I reckon that this is a joke. I looks more like a headline from The Onion than anything.

Do you think that the Argus has nicked it from a joke paper thinking it's for real?

Speaking from the two-bed flat she shares with her new boyfriend, unemployed chef Simon Hawkins, 28, Laura admits she has already gained a stone in weight since she lost the right to the extra money.

She said: "It's been a matter of weeks and I'm already nearly a stone heavier from all the junk I've had to eat.

"I can't afford WeightWatchers crisps and healthy cereal bars anymore so instead I have to go for cheap chocolate and packets of fatty Space Invaders.

Give me strength. :nono:

That is brilliant, you couldn't make it up. How stupid can a person be, cheaper to eat fatty food? Is it f***. If you really want to lose weight your diet should consist of things like, water - free, porridge - cheap, fruit - cheap, soup - cheap, beans on toast - cheap, vegetables - cheap etc etc you get the idea.

How about you get a job you lazy, greedy fat pig. It there a case for people like this being put down?

You fat bint, by an apple instead of a pack of cheap chocolate, or some nuts instead of crisps.

This is the problem the government have, they want to lower the obesity ratem yet all the food that helps that is more expensive than the junk food.

At McDonalds/KFC/Burger King/Chippies you can get a filling meal for £4, but where can you get a healthy option for the same price whilst out in a town/city centre. All these fast food chains try to promote healthy eating, but their healthy options dont have fat, but contain shit loads of sugar instead

If someone can afford to spend £4 for a meal at Macdonalds or KFC, then they could easily by some fresh veg for this amount, and make a healthy, filling stir fry, or buy some equally healthy salad stuff, with perhaps a fillet of fish or piece of cheese.

People, don't eat junk food because they're poor, but because they're unbelievably thick, or too lazy to make a decent meal themselves - particularly ironic, when being 'non-waged' means that they've got all day.

These people are brainless trash. Sadly, one of the few things that Britain is still good at is breeding these degenerates.

People like this, along with chavs in general, really bring out the fascist in me.

Well this woman is just unbelievably stupid. This story almost feels like a spoof. If her boyfriend is really a chef he should be able to rustle up some cheap healthy meals, it's not that difficult.

Cheer up folks, this story will have a happy ending.

She will balloon to the size of a 50 stone beached whale and will then die. At this point we are all spared having to feed her from our taxes.

Job done.

Cooking is Brilliant. It makes you try all sorts of foods, foods you wouldnt try if it doesnt come in a take away or ready made microave meal or out a packet.

There is something satisfying about eating something you have made yourself. I love spreading the word about recipies, and teaching others to cook it too. Even if you make burger and chips, it will be healthier than anything McDonalds and the like can dish up.

i agree with the comment above that this country seems to be brilliant at creating this kind of scum.

So reading the story, if you get fat, you then in turn get disability payments ?

That was essentially the plot of a Simpsons episode a few years back. Homer had to gain a hundred pounds or so in order to be classified as disabled and be allowed to work from home.
