I think it would be a 'must' sell. The new club member for your seat would have to sign the contract and therefore I believe the club would insist that they are also the owner of the seat licence.

I don't understand this idea that there won't be enough season tickets available for everyone. I know the excitement for Falmer is immense but surely expecting 20 thousand odd tickets to sell is ridiculous? There will certainly be enough for all 'die-hard' fans as well as the new ones that we should welcome as they are helping us fund the stadium! To suggest that we will be lumped with rubbish seats is also crazy - all of them will better than the Withdean.

Can some of you please stop this negativity towards Falmer because after 11 years without a ground this isn't a time for moaning!

Does it also mean that after 5 years if you don't like what the DD monthly charge for the following 5 years is going to be there is an option to sell the seat license to somebody on the waiting list ?

Corperate packages should be given equal priority to STH's for away/cup tickets. At the most.

No. After 5yrs the seat licence become the property of the club, until you re-purchase your seat at whatever rate they set and sign a new contract for your membership of the 1901 club. (Assuming a £500 5yr initial licence purchase)

With a £1,000 licence, then you would be free to sell it on the open market.

I think 'hatred' of the 1901 types, if it exists, would be a bit immature, and possibly envy-based on occasions. I regard corporate hospitality as a necessary evil for a football club, I wish it wasn't needed, but it is.

However, I sometimes think people glibly talking about packages worth a hell of a lot of money, out of the reach of many ordinary fans, does put peoples backs up. Flaunting your wealth in front of others is unsavoury, full stop. And I do remember from years past, when we were the 'cause' club, that the prawn sandwich brigade were spoken about in very disparaging terms on here when it was Premier League clubs.

Part of the problem is that we have had months of 1901 threads before the normal season ticket prices were out. Also, our geography means that we have a higher percentage of high-income fans, so the debate is different from what it would be in, say, Rotherham.

All these people have paid for the privilidge of a top notch matchday experience, the best seats, top dining facilities, a parking space etc. But to give them priority over those who have been up and down the country for years, who cannot afford to pay £90 ish per month is too much for me. I know its great for the club and that its much needed revenue, but away tickets should not be allocated on the simple basis of the cost of a season ticket.
Someone who can afford £90 per month, should not be given priority over someone with the cheapest season ticket because thats all they can pay.

So , with a £1000 license does the club advise you what the new monthly direct debit charge is after 5 years for the following 5 years ? e.g. if it is £99 p.m. and shoots up to £140 p.m. you can sell on the license to another punter ?

Part of the problem is that a lot of long term STH's, including people who'd had season tickets at Gillingham - had expected to be offered season tickets at Falmer in October.

Gets to first week of November and the only news is more 1901 tickets available...

Isn't this a problem of all modern stadia - there are never enough away tickets if yout team is doing well. They don't build grounds with a large away allocation so even without 1901 members (who many probably won't go away in any case) it will be a bun fight for all.

There has been a big jump in crowds already since our rise I suspect if it continues we will even sell out Withdean.

If we then make the Championship (we will) if we do well again I bet it will be a pain getting away tickets.

Well I for one am looking forward to seeing Brighton play in a beautiful new stadium and seeing legions of Albion fans turn up. I don't care for your age, where you live, how many games you've been to or how much you pay for your season ticket. Everyone is there to cheer on the Seagulls and all this in fighting has got to stop.

You could do with re-reading this thread to fully appreciate the concerns. It isn't negativity towards falmer, simply a plea to the club to treat the fans that have kept us alive with the respect and gratitude they deserve.

Sadly I think the club have donned their £££ spectacles and sold out before the place has even opened

I understand why the 1901 club are being courted at the moment, but I do feel for the fan that has been following us for a long time, but can't commit to such a long deal.

I do think that the unfortunate persons of the move will be the fans that pay by the game. I am sure there are plenty of fans that have paid £24+ for most of the season, but are entirely ignored by benefits.

I can't see what the fuss is about anyway. I reckon there are about 300 max 1901 club supporters who would go to away matches and they are pretty much all real long term Albion fans - the rest will only ever use the home facilities and won't go away matches.

Ultimately, the only real problem with 1901 is that they have been on sale for several months while regular season tickets remain unattainable. This is what has left the less well off feeling like they are on the outside looking in, disenfranchised, and in the case of current STHs, very unappreciated.

And I agree that the extra 400 1901 seats will prove to be a PR disaster. I mean really, is it necessary?
