Paul Daniels couldn't predict whether or not he needed a piss, even if he'd already wet himself.

Short-arsed little monkey.

That may be true, but he is actually a v.good magician - his routines contain quite a few tricks that other magicians don't know how he does them.

A magician yeah, he's OK.
An illusionist - no chance.

Although he did manage to "trick" Debbie McGhee into bed :lolol:

He'd so like to be Copperfield.

Personally, I'd like bury him in a copper mine.

He's also an arsehole.

I didn't think this could be true, but I just found this on Times OnLine

"Nevertheless, his card-counting skills have got him banned from every casino in Britain"

Card counter is not magic, it's just memory and, unsurprisingly, counting.

If you're brain is 'that way inclined', card counting is a piece of piss.
Personally I prefer to hand over my cash as I walk in the door!.

I reckon he has synaesthesia.

There's no other way he could do a lot of the tricks that he does, especially the memory tricks.

Just reaching for the dictionary, back in a sec.

I didn't for a second think it was magic, I know exactly how it's done - I just doubted that it was possible to ban a particular person from every casino in the country.

Yeah magic was the wrong word, but hopefully you know what I mean.

I guess every casino would ban a card counter, and assuming DB would rather count cards than trust his luck, no casino would allow him entry.
Therefore 'not tonight sonny, your banned'.

There was a horrific-on-many-levels story in the papers a couple of years back where a bloke taped the previous week's lottery numbers, bought a lottery ticket with those numbers on, made some excuse to get his missus out the room, then set the tape running at lottery draw time. Missus checked the numbers and runs screaming round the room that they've got all six numbers up. Husband was majorly disappointed with her reaction when he confessed to his little practical joke. If memory serves she divorced him

Actually thinking about it, it would actually be a lot easier as his face is so well know.

If he was a GENIUS he would let us mere mortals have the numbers too... selfish BASTARD.

Then, seeing as we'd all win the jackpot, when you take away the other winners and the charity money - we'd all make a loss on our quid!

Thats up there with the scene in the office when David Brent tells Dawn he is making her redundant as a joke. It's the kind of thing that seems less funny when they start crying!! :lolol:

You cannot predict 6 numbers before they come up.

Derren is about illusion. Creating a false, but to SOME, believeable image. If he could predict numbers in the FUTURE, he could predict business proft numbers, the chances of something happen, or even events such as The 9/11 attacks and where, according to map numbers.

This is not possible. Read his book and you will find out how he does it, that's if he doesnt make it clear at the end of the program.

Still, i love his programs, gets me thinking. But the end of the day, preparation is EVERYTHING for him. He ha devoted his life to it, after all.

I'm sure he will somehow manage to do it but it will be an illusion and not reality...end of
