I think Adrie should have taken up any job offer at the club, been a model employee and then who knows what opportunities may have arisen from it. Many of the most successful people in life start at " the bottom "

I do hope that cleaning toilets does not include cleaning bottoms, wonderful customer service but I do think that is taking match day assistance a bit too far.

Perhaps you would do better reading the full role profile rather than just the job title.

And it is not the clubs fault that you live 35 miles away is it. I presume you were not headhunted for the role.....

I expect they will provide transport for him.

At the risk of completely jeopardising my prospects to ever work for this club I want to bring to your attention this club has towards treating prospective employees. In my opinion they are insulting and devious but you can draw your own conclusions. I had an interview for the role of a match day assistant. Nothing else disclosed about what it involves, I do my own research which is standard of me. Arrive smart, on time and courteous. Moment I arrive to speak I am am immediately put on a pedal stool. I explain my initial expectations, which is what I think is assisting with the events of matches around the crowd. I was not corrected of this and then questioned about my knowledge of cleaning which I knew pretty well as I've been one in the past. When I then ask what I will be doing they say I will clean after matches. I am sorry but I find this utterly rude to not disclose this in the first place, it's disgraceful. I've been getting auditions and interviews for positions of 15k and I felt like the club are manipulating people to get one over. They were interviewing several prospective employees many whom appeared older and greater experience on me. To ask people to come out for a minimum wage skill is just rude. Frankly if this is how they treat potential new staff god knows how they treat their current staff. I will not be picking up someone's poo in the toilets. No pun intended.

Minimum wage is £6.19, this position is 20% over that and a 40 hour week would put you well over the 15k you seem to value yourself at, i really cannot see your problem.

I'm not sure you should be treating these meetings as "Auditions" it's not the X factor for cleaners.

I reckon the Toilet Cleaning is just he clubs version of Mr Miyagi's training in The Karate KId

After a few weeks toilet training you then become a matchday steward

Lifting the lid - thats the arm action the stewards use when protecting themselves from attack.

Wiping the seat - thats the hand movement they use for calling you over when they are about to throw you out for standing

Using the brush - thats the pointing action for when you have dropped something under your seat.
