The fact that the name of the conurbation does not contain the word 'Portslade' does not follow that it is not part of it.

I always thought the casino was above it and 'The Hove Club' referred to the whole structure. Certainly shows how much attention I have been paying as I have been visiting there for two decades.

Its sort of above it I suppose, part of it is anyway. However it IS part of the built up area of Brighton and Hove. Mainly because it's in Hove.
