And Moulsecoomb.

Don't think Southwick station is in the B&H UA area.
Fishersgate is right on the border.

when you come out of fishersgate station on the south side, the sign for West Sussex is on your right.......it's right on the border and i have a feeling that one of the entrances is within B & H (portslade) rather than fishersgate

they are there, but they are not open until April, so for the purpose of what i am doing, I will go with Al's 8

9 I reckon.

atleast part of fishersgate is in B&H, and it looks like the entrance is even if the ridiculously unnecessarily long platforms aren't

(why does the station need a postal address, if you sent a letter there, no-one would be there to pick it up :))

No way Fishersgate is in the built up area of Brighton and Hove. Portslade it's self isn't consider to be so. The Station however is sited in Hove. Used to be called Portslade and West Hove.

Portslade became part of the Borough of Hove in 1974.

Therefore it is now part of the City of Brighton & Hove.

Right, so if you live in Portslade and somebody asks where do you live? Do you answer a) Brighton b) Hove or c) Portslade.

It is not considered part of the built up area. It is a suburb. But not part of the built up area. Property prices alone will tell you that.

310 - pubs/bars
280 - restaurants (according to scores on the doors)
100+ - schools
100+ - places of worship
30 - night clubs
9 - train stations (according to NSC)
3 - casinos
3 - cinemas
2 - universites
1 - dog track
1 - race course

its probably incorrect, but it's going in the video...

Oh what a superb and articulate response. I take it you concede the argument:thumbsup:

There's no argument to concede.

Portslade is part of the City of Brighton & Hove, and IS considered part of the built-up area. For you to bang on about house prices in order to make a case that it's not is among the vast myriad of things that marks you out as a charmless pillock.

You're just making this shit up as you go along to mark yourself as being superior and different to Portslade natives and inhabitants, aren't you?

No! Have you no knowledge of the local economy? Portslade,Southwick and
Saltdean, all outside of the built up area of Brighton and Hove and all by virtue of being out of the built up area of Brighton and Hove have significantly lower property prices than those suburbs within the built up area of Brighton and Hove. As for considering myself superior to Portslade natives?! I was brought up in the rough end of Hangleton for gawd sake.

Enough now. Good luck with it Brett.

No that is the private members club next to the casino. The Casino is a little further down Albany Mews.

I always thought the casino was above it and 'The Hove Club' referred to the whole structure. Certainly shows how much attention I have been paying as I have been visiting there for two decades.

Jesus wept.

It's perfectly simple - unlike your incoherent and illiterate gibberish there. Portslade is part of the conurbation of Brighton & Hove - f*** knows why you keep saying it isn't. The fact that the name of the conurbation does not contain the word 'Portslade' does not follow that it is not part of it.

House prices have absolutely f*** ALL to do with determining whether a given area is part of a city or not. None.

It's you - and only you that's come up with the hair-brained rule.
