Yep, even worse. I am not looking to pick on the BBC but only mentioned them because they seem to have been the first to break the ‘story.’ Also, I don’t read the Sun.

Sheesh - it's not all about you. The fact that you read it first from the BBC does not mean that they broke the story.

The issue was first leaked to ITV - as is often the case, when one media outlet runs a story, then swiftly after, so do the others.

You certainly aren't ignoring that front page as you walk into the newsagents, corner shop, supermarket and errrrr forecourt!

The job offer includes 3 months temporary visas. British drivers don’t need visas, although I have heard bus companies are losing drivers because haulage pays better.

The market does in this instance seem to be fulfilling its function of adjusting price to balance supply and demand. What should happen is pay rises for bus drivers. As to the 3 month visas I totally agree with you if you think it is a daft idea. For one thing, why do the Government think this problem will go away in the new year ?

Because they know in the new year we'll be focusing on another set of different clusterf**ks.

Exactly. Johnson just wanted the headline of ‘saving Christmas’ again with offering visas to drivers and poultry workers.
He is incapable of planning anything more than 12 weeks ahead.

Johnson has only one intention - to survive to the end of each week

Some of the big retailers in the States like Walmart and Costco are imposing customer purchase limits on things like toilet rolls, bottled water and meat.

They say it is a preventative measure rather than supply chain problems......................hmmm, I wonder

ITV don’t have a rolling news channel and therefore an audience on Thursday afternoon.

You certainly aren't ignoring that front page as you walk into the newsagents, corner shop, supermarket and errrrr forecourt!

That Sun quote was in Friday’s paper. The media panic was initiated on Thursday which was the day I was strolling on to the forecourt.

Do you think the media should just ignore the experts warning, especially when the government is responsible?

No, but they could focus more on causes and solutions, rather than the endless range of possible consequences.

I think that you will find the last 5 words of your post are redundant

Aye …queues started Thursday eve locally to me
Plus bbc have a radio network that was discussing it from Thursday lunchtime onwards …the fire was lit and stoked further by The Sun etc

Fair enough I doubt that had any effect, esp as it's lifted direct quotes from the initial reporting under their considered and thoughtful banner headline.
