He was telling people we had diesel, unleaded due tomorrow.

There is no deisel in Faversham. A bit in my car but not enough to get me to the Arse game next week

That'll learn me for not buying electric.

Not a dig at you but a comment on your post from my own perspective.

I've been WFH since the end of March 2020 with the occasional day in (~1 visit not even a full day every 2 weeks or so) and I estimate I'm 30 to 50% more efficient how is an admin-only function not the same or potentially more efficient?

Organisations have had more than enough time to get home workers up to speed with equipment or training etc.

Equally have been WFH since March 2020.

Will be going back 1 day per week maximum from November onwards.

I have certainly been more productive as don’t mind working an element of my daily 3 hour commute to finish on time on Friday

Of course there are some who have taken the piss and are getting found out, rather than getting away with it in plain sight with the usual BAU changes etc.

I’ve been promoted during the pandemic on merit rather than just being seen in the office late

West is BEST
Despite being warned by the industry and by "project fear" for many years, Boris Johnson has ground the UK to a halt in a single weekend, His fix? Let 5000 drivers through on an emergency Visa but they have to **** off by Christmas eve, Surprisingly, there are not many hands in the air for that gig.

Nothing in all 4 garages in my part of the County's northern heights. Thankful that none of us need to travel far this week and fingers crossed that some form of sanity will return as the week progresses.

Both Biscuit Barrel and Giraffe quoted figures earlier on in this thread (not the same figures) and I asked where this information was from but got no response

I was under the same impression as you, that BP and Esso wouldn't release figures (or certainly hadn't by Friday) ???

Maybe BB missed your question …he has quoted his source immediately above your post.

BREAKING:

an estimated 50-85% of UK petrol stations (outside of the motorway network) have run out of fuel after Britons engaged in panic buying over the weekend

That’s quite a gap between the numbers.

Even if it’s the 50 percent, it shows what utter idiots live in the UK.

Fair enough if that's what they heard on Thursday but not sure where the BBC got that info as nothing now confirms that figure, just a reference to 'a handful'. Not sure the BBC are even reporting that now.

:)
I dont generally follow them much….just happened to have five live on in the van that day…..only listened to the sport since

"The prime minister will gather ministers to scrutinise “Operation Escalin” after BP admitted that a third of its petrol stations had run out of the main two grades of fuel, while the Petrol Retailers Association (PRA), which represents almost 5,500 independent outlets, said 50% to 90% of its members had reported running out. It predicted that the rest would soon follow."

Time to panic?

Or that there is genuinely a shortage of fuel…

Sorry, I posted before he had answered. It's just that on Friday the BBC were reporting that both BP and Esso wouldn't release the figures and from all certifiable sources I have found still haven't. Which was why I was making the point that the BBC could only report what they were being told.

If you are correct (and I don’t know if you are as I don’t remember the numbers quoted, if indeed there were any) then why are you defending a piece of journalism that lacked research for basic facts ?

The BBC were saying that they had fully researched this and the figures weren't available. This is the 21st century, surely someone can find a dated certifiable source as to when these facts became available. I'm sorry but I have searched and can't find any certifiable source for these numbers at all. Anyone ?

I have to get fuel tomorrow, wish me luck
The queue for Texaco in Telscombe Cliffs today was insane. Less than 12 hours and they are out of fuel again. I really hope we see an end to this madness very soon.

It was conceived years ago during the planning for a no-deal Brexit, and would see hundreds of soldiers drafted in to drive a reserve fleet of 80 tankers. It is understood it would take up to three weeks to fully implement, because some of those mobilised may already be on other deployments and others could be reservists. Escalin was touted as an option last week, but government sources downplayed the chance of its activation.
