Zippin' up my boots, goin' back to my roots, yeah,
To the place of my birth, back down to earth.

I've been standing in the rain,
Drenched and soaked with pain,
Tired of short time benefits
And being exposed to the elements.
I'm homeward bound, got my head turned around.

Zippin' up my boots, goin' back to my roots, yeah,
To the place of my birth, back down to earth.
Ain't talkin' 'bout no roots in the land,
Talkin' 'bout no roots in the man.
I feel my spirit gettin' old, it's time to recharge my soul.
I'm zippin' up my boots, goin' back to my roots, yeah,
To the place of my birth, back down to earth.

Zippin' up my boots, goin' back to my roots.
To the place of my birth, back down to earth.

Cosy Powell - Dance with the devil.

The lyric's were a piece of piss and all you needed was a couple of wooden spoons & a few cake tins to play along with it.

..and now for a truly embarrassing contribution ....

My Dingaling - Chuck Berry

In my defence I was 9 at the time and had absolutely no idea what he was signing about!

South Wales (im not welsh !!)
Purple Haze (Jimi Hendrex) and My Generation (The Who) I did have other records, but they were the first 2 records i personally bought, must have been about 1965ish

Just checked, Purple Haze was not released until 1967, so i must be wrong on that one, i have worked out where i was living at the time. so i know it was definatly 1965 and My generation was released in 1965, i must be mistaken with the other one.........................old age......great aint it :)

I bought two at once: Thin Lizzy's Whiskey in the Jar and Sylvia by Focus - I still have them,

My first LP was, rather embarrassingly, Tangerine Dream's Phaedra (I no longer have that).

Madness - Driving in my car

It folded out into a picture of a stretched, convertible Morris minor (I think it was a Morris). Wish I knew where it was.

Driving in my car was the first special edition picture disc I purchased

First 7" was Tempole Tudor - Swords of a Thousand Men

"Right Said Fred", yeah, that "I'm too sexy for Japan" one. You must remember it?

Ok, I'm lying, but it really WAS 'Right said Fred' - by Bernard Cribbins. I was about 5 or 6 so it must have been around 1962. Bought it with my first ever ten shilling note.

Hello Goodbye by the Beatles.

I also bought a day or two later, Something ( in the way she moves) with a double A side Come Together - it had the same label on both sides. If only I would have kept it, it would be worth a fortune now!!!

A 7" of some Thomas the Tank Engine story read by Johnny Morris. Can't remember what it was called, but it involved Thomas being challenged to a race by some cocky tractor. Thomas won because the tractor had to go over a hill and he could go through a tunnel.

Rivetting stuff when you're 7...
