The Jets certainly seem to be showing an interest in Tebow. Tony Speranzo, the new offensive co-ordinator, seems to think that Tebow's ability to create big plays in certain Wildcat packages could be a good fit. But the hype that comes with Tebow could be a distraction for a team that has just given Mark Sanchez a 3 year extension after missing out on Manning

Whoops - just seen it's a done deal. Some of the guys in my office are Jets fans and they are NOT impressed

Stephen A Smith on 1050 ESPN New York pretty much lost it this morning when the trade was announced. i believe he actually started crying at one point. "THIS IS A DISASTER!" :lolol:

find a podcast of it if you need a laugh.

or not as it seems that there is now some stalling over the deal. Can't say I would have had the Jets in my top ten list of places for Tebow to end up but then the unpredictability of the NFL is what makes it so fascinating.

Meopham, Kent.

That is a quite incredible penalty they have dished out. Until teh middle of next season they are without HC, Asst HC, and GM. Even after that Sean Peyton isn't back until the end of the season.

What I absolutely LOVE about the NFL is just how swiftly they deal with these sort of matters, and how, when they suspend people they are suspended "without pay". Also, the "indefinite" bans they dish out are great, because it shows how the Commissioner is putting the honour of the game first, and someone has to show the Commissioner something to warrant a return.

The other possible loss for the Saints is, will Brees want to sign a long-term deal with them now, as they are going to be a shambles for a bit. I think he will still sign, but I'm less sure than he was.

The Jets must be trying to corner the market in over rated quarter backs - Sanchez and Tebow were amongst the lowest rated QBs last season, in the 40s I think. The first few Jets games will turn into a media circus with all the reigious loonies turning up as well

the last few hours have produced some very satisfying images for a Broncos supporting, Tebow liking-but-doubting person like me...

Have a feeling the Browns will go Tannehill @ 4 on draft day. But they SHOULD take Trent.

I agree. Richardson is a no brainer pick at 4 he is class (Blackmon if available wouldn't be bad either), Tannehill is not a top five pick, I doubt very much whether he is ready to start and make an impact this year. It will be interesting to see what the Browns do, especially as they have two first rounders. if they wanted a QB they'd be better off picking Weedon in a later round.

I'm just waiting for RGIII to come to Washington and then seeing which OL and secondary players we can pick up with the other six picks. I have a weird feeling that Cliff Harris could be a steal at CB in rounds 6 or 7, he has massive character issues but he does some talent to work with.

I rate Lamar Miller from Miami who clocked the fastest 40 yard dash time, but will probably go in the second round.

Underrated – LaMichael James of Oregon
Overrated – Bernard Pierce, Temple Owls RB
Sleeper – Isaiah Pead Cincinnati RB

Very much agree about LaMichael James, he may end up being a 3rd rd bargain for someone. His speed is blistering. There is something about the Ducks that underwhelms the commentariat which leads to their players being underrated. He was sublime to watch last year.

Looks as if Mickey Loomis, the GM of the New Orleans Saints, may have been copying Rupert Murdoch. The FBI and State Police are carrying out investigations into Loomis who has been accused of eavesdropping on the playcalls of opposing coaches between 2002 and 2004. Loomis denies the allegation by ESPN. It gets to the stage where nothing surprises you anymore.

Mike and Tony were talking about this.
They quoted Loomis 'these rumours are 1000% untrue', then spent the next 5 mins talking about them as if they were!

Yes. Browns have traded up to 3 with Vikings, for a 4th, 5th and 7th. Please let that mean Richardson!

I've been pretty sure all along that they would take Richardson. For me, they go RB and WR in the 1st Rd, and I just think the drop-off at RB is sharper than at WR. Getting Richardson, and probably Kendall Wright looks pretty good to me, and better than Blackmon and Doug Martin.

What do you think they do in Round 2 tomorrow? Do they take a QB or stick with McCoy, at least for a season with some weapons around him.

If I was Heckert I'd take Wright or possibly Hill at #22 then best available RT in the second round. OR, J. Martin (RT) at #22 and maybe Randle at #37. Either way it has to be WR and RT with #22 and #37. Give Colt a year with some protection and a decent WR and see how he does. Its the only fair way to judge him IMHO. If he fails next year then do whatever it takes to get a QB next year.

You all set to take Barron?
