Word reaches me of a frosty exchange between the PM’s Chief of Staff and a Cabinet Minister following a chance encounter inside No:10 late this afternoon.

It seems the minister’s gleeful observation regarding the fate that traditionally befalls advisers who become ‘the story’ was less than well received.

It seems that in the last couple of days, since a Times on Sunday article was printed, people have found out about the existence of the Register of Members Financial Interests (even though it's existed for 50 years) and really aren't happy about it. The fact that this new PM has been the first one this decade to fill it out honestly without lying as to what he's been given, doesn't seem to have helped at all. People are furious at the whole concept of it.

Also, the Telegraph has named a Sue Gray as joining the other 200+ senior civil servants who earn more than the Prime Minister but it's much worse her earning it than all the others apparently.

Do keep up
Sue Gray isn’t a civil servant.

Do keep up.

And his glasses stuff was known about well over two months ago, it's weird that it's only hit the headlines now.

Not really. Most political journalists spend July and August in Tuscany with their phones switched off and juniors staffing the desk whilst Parliament is in recess.

Freebies galore for Kier. Labour are destroy the country. I accept the Tories were unpopular at the point of the election but nowhere near as unpopular as Labour are just after the election. Going from bad to worse.

Really is a lot about nothing. Right wing press just desperate they’re now out in the cold.
Quite. It was to be expected the right-wing run media, the Telegraphs, the Mails, the NSCs of this world :lolol: , would kick off.

That’s nothing. The place where it really kicked off tonight is in Cabinet Office on 70 Whitehall.

Apparently.

Yep

And turning the Labour Government thread into another anti-Labour Meltdown thread.

Funny, some of those Tory/Reform supporters on the meltdown thread who couldn’t wait to pick up a stick and start waving it around after the election having a conniption earlier in the week that Labour supporters/left wingers had ‘infiltrated’ their moaning minny thread and suggested we stick to our own self-congratulatory Labour threads and yet here we are and here they are too :lolol:

Fill it out honestly you say, he was advised rather quickly to change where he declared his freebies when he got caught….

Starmer has declared more free tickets and gifts than other major party leaders in recent times, with his total now topping £100,000 after recent support for his lifestyle from Labour donor Waheed Alli.
The prime minister has accepted almost 40 sets of free tickets during his time as Labour leader, mostly to football matches but also £4,000 of hospitality at a Taylor Swift concert and £698 of Coldplay tickets in Manchester.

Some of the same people complaining about Sir Kier being gifted a pair of cheap glasses are the same who are whining about IHT.

Accepting free stuff is definately as bad as cutting services in the name of austerity, plunging a country into economic hardship, lying to the Queen, breaking one's own lock down rules, and then lying about it, lying about it again and then again.

Was that because Sir Kier found out he was gifted Byrite instead of Boateng?

That's because you hijacked my thread about how people were feeling about the Labour government. You turned it in to a totally different political thread by getting a mod to merge it with yours and change the title. Understandably after just a few weeks of misery in which Labour has done nothing but bleat about a £22bn hole in the economy, cave to every union demand to give away more taxpayers money that is by the same logic unaffordable, and promised to wreak financial devastation on everybody by stealing it from anyone who has actually planned their financial lives to do so - yes, this has turned in to an anti Labour thread. The Tories pissed everybody off. Labour is pissing on us all.
