they'd need to apply elsewhere surely
What happens when anywhere else says no?

You can't just ask people to leave with nowhere to go.

It's why it's never going to be solved properly, countries don't want this issue, certainly don't want to take on more heads.

Any idea what will happen to any unsuccessful applicants from these nations?
We don't deport any unsuccessful applicants to any country where there is a real risk of serious harm, persecution or death (Non-Refoulement Principle).

Unsuccessful applicants are offered funds (AVRR) to return to a country of origin or third country and may be given financial support to help set up a business or accommodation. If they don't go for that, then they can be detained, or deported to another country if their country of origin is unsafe.

Thank you.

Sounds straightforward enough.

This number is going to increase, significantly.
..and why do you think that is? Try and avoid sarcasm if you decide to respond; you don't do it very effectively.

Oh and if you can supply some supporting evidence that would also make it more interesting.....

Seems a perfectly good thread has been derailed by anti-Labour posters with the same old agenda - shame, a thread objectively discussing the content of the King’s Speech and tracking the new and somewhat exciting policies of the new Government trolled into a boring binfest. Conversely there is more sensible discussion of policy content on the meltdown thread.

Maybe time to switch thread titles

😂😂😂😂

The ‘Labour Government’ suspends 7 MP’s and you think posts about this constitute a derailing, come on Zeb ffs 🤦‍♂️

No.

I would really like a thread discussion about the new Labour Government’s legislative agenda (along the lines that my original thread was before being merged with this one) that doesn’t include a bunch of trolls either deliberately trying to derail it simply because they hate Labour or derailing it just because they are having an ongoing bin fest over some other personal issue.

Uh?

My post was nothing to do with that - read back on the past few days and the strong anti-Labour Gaza agenda that has dominated posts - I take back what I said about changing titles with the meltdown thread, there’s a bin fest on there too with the same person that trolled my original thread with oddly directed posts about neurodivergence.🙄

Time to *ignore* thread for a while.

I think a better idea would be to merge both the threads under the title ’The Labour Government Thread’ and perhaps have a thread for Palestine/Israel thread 👍

Deliberately derailed.
