What is going to happen to the £300M given to Rwanda despite the fact only 5 people have gone voluntarily ? Secondly what is going to happen to the £400M Sunak gave to the French to stop smuggling of migrants ?

It was time for change which the country badly needed. i don’t like references though to the “will of the people” as we have to accept Labour only got a third of the vote and that doesn’t include the 40% who didn’t vote.
that's how our democracy works

Without a hint of irony the Fail publishes a guide for its readership to escape 'Keirs Britain'. So a guide to becoming an economic migrant. The type of individual they hate coming to Britain.

Given the average age demographic of its readership there is next to zero chance to them getting into any of the countries suggested unless they have very deep pockets for one of those golden visa type countries. Another snag they have overlooked. Anyone of or near pensionable age considering moving to the likes of Australia, NZ, Canada, their state pensions would be frozen at the rate it was paid when leaving the UK. Such incidentals as having your state pension frozen at circa £221 a week for eternity until you depart this world is a detail they fail to mention. Facts and the Daily Mail have always been incidental.

If only the UK had not left the UK they'd have the right to not only live BUT also claim benefits in any one of 27 European countries. Just imagine, Stoke-on-Trent or Tuscany...no questions asked. Preston or Provence

Finally, movement on housing and planning. Hope for the many millions who are either homeless, sofa surfing, in B&B’s or paying sky high rents.

Governments, also crucially nimbies and nimby Tory/Green/LD councillors have spent an age blocking and stalling serious housing proposals. Delegation to local level was the green light for selfishness.

As predicted, it turns out that empty homes and pushing all new homes into city centres as flats was not THE answer.

Apparently much of this strategy is for the south.

Well down Reeves  . We cannot let down those less fortunate than us.

Next step, actually getting on with it.

Can't get Staffordshire oatcakes in Tuscany. Those bad boys are like crack.
You can have such food items sent over without any question…..if you’re part of the customs union.

The more I think about it, the more the EU makes perfect sense.

I think this is the saddest thing about Brexit, the fact that freedom of movement of labour and residency is so restricted now.
The way the European Parliament works does seem to be very undemocratic, though. You vote for an MEP whose only role is to rubber stamp laws proposed by unelected commissioners.
Economy wise it doesn't seem to have had much impact either way. Immigration wise it just means that there are more people coming from outside of Europe, fewer from the EU.

Doesn't have the same vibe as getting it fresh from a boat after freezing my tits off waiting for it on a canal tow path.

It's like me suggesting to you that you could get a pint of beer from a Wetherspoons. Objectively true, not really the point. :lolol:

There are acres and acres of vacant land up on the South Downs, get the bloody diggers up there pronto.
