It may make you all feel WARM and CUDDLY to one another but when the majority of the remaining 39 million vote against Labour (and they probably will at the next GE) what will 1 million members matter? Or are you into DIRECT ACTION?

Well the theory is someone very active can influence positively 10 or 20 people close to them
Are their statistics showing the areas of the country where these new members are living?

I did see some research for that in the wave that joined a year ago and there was some fears expressed that too many were joining in the "wrong" areas. I didnt really buy that as there seemed to be a general uplift everywhere

My gut feel and with no idea if it's true or not but I reckon the second big membership increase over the last couple of months has probably had a bigger share of 'less wealthy' (using Guardian's phrase) and a bigger share of people living outside London than the first wave when Corbyn was elected in 2015. And by 'less wealthy' I mean that it's predominantly those who are earning between minimum wage and average UK salary - so not wealthy at all, people who are just about getting by or are sinking.

Sorry if it's fixtures, but the bbc just said over 20% of the new members since Corbyn took over were previously in the green party. Probably fits the wealthier demographic?

Nah. If I wanted to join the Socialist Workers Party I would, why they think its OK to take over the Labour Party completely escapes me.

Because they know that their policies are not those that the broad mass of the electorate would choose or vote for. So they hijack and front larger organisations such as the Labour Party and large Trade Unions and take advantage of the relative apathy of the average chap in the street, who won't attend meetings/sign petitions etc. Sadly, for the Labour traditionalists, even if they split and form another party, the Trots will then invade that too in time, if the alternative party draws huge public support. It happened in the 80s with Militant and now we are seeing the same orchestrated invasion.
