I feel completely mugged off. After listening to everyone bang on about how good the iPad is I finally took the plunge. One month later I now feel totally ripped off. £400 for a substandard Internet tool and storage device. Wow a lot of people are living in Emperors clothes land with this piece of kit. Went to watch seagulls player, oh can't do that, went to download some torrents, oh can't do that, just went to watch the golf on the BBC site, ARGGHhh, can't f***ing do that either. But it's ok there are a million apps you can buy that do shit that you never knew you'd ever want and I've already got them on my smartphone. Oh and it turns on quickly. Apple, I'm sorry, I tried, but my suspicions are correct, you have conned the masses. Why on earth would anyone want one of these over a decent laptop?

You wouldn't. At least with something like an iphone you can do something useful like make calls, send texts etc.

Wish I could disagree, but also feel a bit miffed. Apple seem to only be there to rip you off. Tried syncing iPod and iPad today whilst putting a film on iPad for little one. Big fat mess, itunes is a horrid system, and the storage issue is horrendous. Wish I had gone with gut and went for android or blackberry tablet that would take sd card or would link to external hard drive but listened to all those who bang on about how bloody brilliant Apple products are. As for the apps, can't find much I want.

Hope I will feel happier about it and can work out iCloud, iTunes etc and the iPad itself is fun to use but it all feels expensive.

Would you advise me not to get one then.

So... why did you buy it? Just because others said it was good? You really need a reason to buy one, it's not a laptop.

You bought it as a storage device? Wow, that's the last thing I would have thought of it as.

Seagulls player is fine on FL app.

Don't know what a torrent is, so can't comment.

BBC iPlayer plays BBC content (it's free)

What else did you find it couldn't do? Or did you think you had bought a laptop or some other sort of computer?

Sounds like you should have done so every basic research first. 1) it's not a laptop replacement. 2) no one claimed you could use torrents, file system doesn't work like that for a start. 3) well known flash is not supported.

Unbelievable

If i was going to spend £400 I would do some homework first to find out whether it suits my needs

But no-one prepares you for iTunes.

I did a lot of research and it looked great. I spoke to those who had Apple products, all very happy so plumped for IPad2. Hoping these are just teething problems and I will become a convert but maybe I'm too ingrained in MSwindows and the like.

My wife constantly nagged for one, lots of people said what a good convenient piece of kit. I'm all for shelling out on decent stuff but the iPad is probably one of the most underwhelming things I have ever spent money on. It's just a glorified web browser and very cumbersome music device.

I haven't yet been won over by apple products apart from my iPod, only a 160g classic but with the connection to my car stereo its awesome, no more need for cd wallets or ripping CDs to listen to in the car, I'm currently on a HTC desire HD android phone which I've had for nearly 18 months and it still does everything I need and want in a phone with the 8 megapixel camera that the iPhone still doesn't have.......

When Im due a new contract I may consider moving to an iPhone just because most of my friends have one and its easier to sync between each other but that's a long way off yet.

It's a tablet, not a laptop. It's largest flaw is that it doesn't have flash, but you should have researched that beforehand.

It's a fantastic piece of kit if you use it to what it's designed to be best at.

I didn't buy it as a storage device at all. But other than sticking music and films on it, apps that you get on your phone and sub standard web browsing what else does it do? Fl app costs more? Your right about I player though didn't realise that played live tv now. It's just completely underwhelming for the price.

Flash Player is a very well known issue with Apple. Not sure what you are referring to with iTunes though.

A simple google search on iPad pro's and cons would of been enough surely.

As for Windows. f*** me it's hideous. Amazing some ppl are anti Apple but windows appears to be the computer version of the school slow kid
