And clearly the 'second referendum / remain' parties got considerably more votes that 'leave now' parties. Yet the 'mandate' is for a rapid leave on whatever terms Boris wants.

Rich boy playing at hard left policies and ultimately the expense of the poorest. Without power you cannot implement your policies, and this uni students union stuff won’t wash with the U.K. electorate as just shown again. Or Abbott, campaigns to close private schools and sends her kid to one. Joke

The Momentum style policies will continue to be rejected. Too much, too extreme. But the Tories will mess up at some point, might be 5 years, might be 10. Shame that the poor suffer more whilst the hard left applause themselves.

What! it isnt exactly your point but completely the reverse. These "soft" left policies, not at all extreme (standard in many other countries) are" extremely" popular.

People clearly did not want to be dragged back 40 plus years to nationalised industries, millennials would not know what they are and older people knew how bad they were. Also the labour "vision" would have taken 5 to 10 years to implement at an alarming cost.

Do you honestly and truly think that if the Labour Party goes into the next election with the same policies it will win? Being popular and actually voting for something are completely different things. Socialist policies like Jeremy's are great in principle but not in practice......

And I was far more scared of Corbyn getting than Brexit....

So then they should develop unpopular policies, or abandon socialism, give up maybe? What do you suggest? Labours policies were just mainstream democratic socialist ones not at all extreme historically in this country, and commonplace elsewhere in other countries. And why were you scared of Corbyn ? A peace-loving allotment-holding, cycling, jam-maker.

Look, I dont even vote labour, because their policies are not radical enough for me, but opinion poll evidence shows their policies were popular, although I agree Corbyn, and their Brexit policies were clearly not popular which swung the vote
