The LibDems smugly boasting on the TV how they’ve stepped aside in Brighton Pavilion, to give Caroline Lucas a chance as a Remain candidate.

What utter tosh. Lucas already had the seat tied up, her vote is only going to grow in a staunchly Remain constituency. The LibDems are effectively irrelevant in the constituency.

No, I think they are just showing how the 'Remain Alliance ' is working, it was just an easy marketing win.

What really needs to happen is for Labour to join that Remain Alliance so that Brexit is stopped. The problem is that Labour see themselves as too big for that and more fundamentally are not a Remain party at the top end (nor in the north grass roots) so won't do that. Now the BREXIT party has pulled out of contesting many seats the Tories will win a majority , they will get BREXIT and will f*ck the economy and with it the NHS.

Am I misunderstanding something here? UK's GDP for 2008 was £2.11 trillion, 5% of this is vastly more than £100m. Do you mean £100billion?

that's there mistake because BREXIT is the key issue affecting the economy by not joining with the LIB Dems in remaining they will lose. I could be wrong but too many people like me ,centre left remainers , see that remain is the key issue and are not keen on a further left Labour party. More to the point any remainers on the left side of the Tory party won't vote labour either but are more likely to vote Lib Dem. All a matter of opinions but the best tactic in the short term will be to make compromises , Labour & Lib Dem, so that the Tories don't continue in power. Try and mend the country i.e. address Brexiteers issues and secure the NHS then call an election maybe in 3 years to decide the real political direction. my personal view is centralist views so that we get away from party politics which divide the nation.

But the politicians do not help themselves either by not answering or swerving important questions and generally behaving like pillocks, they never ever learn that the public just want straight answers and some truth, they would appreciate it even if they didn't necessarily agree.
One of the many reasons I would never vote for Johnson is because he is a convicted and seriel lier.
Who in their right mind would want someone like that running the country, given a majority he would take great pleasure in doing nothing that he said he would do, he always says what people want to hear at the time depending on where he is.
Admittedly it's a shitty choice but the most dangerous candidate is Johnson, the man is a total idiot.

I think this is why people warmed to Corbyn last time around, as compared to the skittish May he seemed like he was at least trying to be more earnest. Although he seems not to be this time so will be interesting to see whether the same happens.

Hung parliaments and coalitions are not inherently a bad thing for democracies. They tend to force compromise and don't allow tiny majorities/minorities to ride roughshod over the views of others (which you could say is happening with Brexit).
