The likes of Ernest were throwing dirt at Kyle long before the election.

I think having an opinion on an MP is fine, we don't necessarily have to like what they stand for, so have no issue with Ernest or anyone being critical of Kyle. What I object to is derogatory comments such as labelling him a pink Tory, and careerist politician who has only volunteered for things for career advantage - the day before an election! At least Ernest has got his red coat on and doing the necessary ahead of an election. Slagging off an MP with made up stuff day before a vote - well it's a bit like booing one of your own players during a game because you don't rate them...

Because of the fact that the vote was never taken - we do not know whether the local LP membership support his candidacy or not. The Blairite LP HQ suspended the B&H LP after Kyle's cronies were defeated in officer elections (by a vote of 2-1 margin) - and the LP HQ then expelled a lot of the membership reinforcing the anti-democratic 'Progress' clique around Kyle. This clearly demonstrates that a significant number of LP members were opposed to him standing again as a LP candidate.

Many local LP members will continue to canvass for him even if they wanted him out, in order to maximise the LP vote and the number of LP MPs returned - and those that canvassed for him while holding their noses are only too well aware that Kyle will shaft the LP if it suits his interests to do so.

I don't see how this adds up? Celia Barlow was the candidate in Blair's time and won in 2005 but lost the seat in 2010 under Brown. Kyle wasn't selected until 2014. Blair stood down in 2007. Not sure how you're time lines are coming up with these conclusions?

Shite like this is exactly why Boris will win tomorrow. But then you won't have to put up with that in Tipperary or wherever the **** you are so you can carry on sitting in your ivory tower pontificating about things you know feck all about and boring NSC to death, while our country goes through a painful No Deal Brexit and loses its NHS. Brilliant. Thanks.

Boris will get in because the likes of Kyle have been sabotaging Corbyn since he was elected as leader of the LP - they don't want Corbyn to win because if he does they can't try and shaft him again. Kyle and his ilk would be thrilled with a hung parliament because it would give them an opportunity to try and remove Corbyn.

And by the way - it was the Blairites (people like Kyle) who started the process of privatising the NHS.

Blairite does not mean being in Parliament when Blair was leader - it means someone who continues with the policies advocated by Blair - and Kyle is certainly one of those.

Yeah I understand that, but you specifically said Blair LP central HQ conspired with Kyle and his cronies to have Kyle installed. That is an accusation of a specific nature, not just of Kyle's politics in general. The Labour Party needs it's left of centre politicians. It would be a poorer debate without a broad policy representation within the party.

Policies like securing peace in Northern Ireland via the Good Friday agreement, handing control of interest rates to the central bank preventing the crippling 15% rates on the Tory watch in the early 90s, not joining the Euro, introducing the minimum wage, reforming the welfare state and becoming the most redistributive government since Wilson, introducing winter fuel payments, introducing extended parental rights, banning fox hunting and offering £400 to Britain's poorest pensioners to go towards their council tax? Those policies?

No insults - passive/aggressive or otherwise - it was a summation of your outline

and I never claimed that I 'knew or understood the constituency' - I said I know and understand elections and electoral processes.

Elections and electoral processes are one of the subjects that I actually know something about (among other things I have served as an election monitor/observer) and I guarantee you that I fully understand Kyle and the constituency that he is standing in. the fact that you and a small number of others are projecting your prejudice onto the election does not reflect the reality of how electoral processes work.

Of course the real reason why you are voting for Kyle is because he is anti-Corbyn - as demonstrated by your intent to support the Tory if he wasn't standing - and that is also clear from the other stuff you have posted on this thread.

Just going to leave this here.
