Putting aside 2Ps strange definition of 'snowflakes', do you not find it slightly worrying that the EU Commission doesn't seem to represent a cross section of society ? Just the white elite ?

How many ethnic minority candidates were up for election in the first place? I would say the proportion of women is refreshingly high for a political body.

Contacted local Tory candidate...

Q - I got a message on the my FB feed there will be 50,000 more nurses under the Tories, is that true?

A - Yes that's correct we will go from 280,000 to 330,000. That's 31,000 new recruits and 19,000 retained staff

Have I missed something here?

Clearly the 19,000 are going to be working double shifts in perpetuity.

But isn't that the problem .... ethnic minorities don't wish to put themselves forwards ? It's an issue we had in the UK for many years - thankfully it's got better here. It doesn't seem to have done so for EU positions.

I agree with you for women though ..... with a caveat !

My cousin used to be an interpreter for the EU in Brussels. She speaks English, French, Spanish and Italian. She was driven out of her job with the EU because they said she was 'too fat'. Constant jibes etc. When she complained to higher management she was told that they expected all staff to be of 'standard weight'. Not that it matters but nobody was prepared to explain what that 'standard weight' was. In the end she resigned and spent a year at home with her parents recovering from anorexia. Now if the EU can do that to a white Anglo-Saxon woman I suspect multi-cultural diversity is well down their list !

PS - she voted leave. As did her two brothers, and her parents who are farmers.

You do not know why I was banned as it was not listed in the moderator decisions section :ffsparr:
All I am saying is there is little point in a warning system if you have no idea what the warning is! Its like having 2 pts put on your driving licence but not being told how many gets you a ban.

You called anyone voting Tory or for Brexit a racist cvnt .... even someone as stupid as you must understand that would get you a ban ?

That's astonishingly awful, I'm amazed that stood up to any sort of HR scrutiny whatsoever.

In the US 800,000 personal bankruptcies per annum

Hopefully all those 75,000 people injured from firearms aren't in the same 44,000,000 group with any health insurance at all

We don't know how lucky we are

It would make more sense if they said "By 2023 (or whenever it is) there will be 50,000 more nurses than there would otherwise have been". But they don't say that deliberately as it makes it more confusing so people keep talking about it.

“2.6 million young people registered to vote in the month leading up to the registration deadline, an amazing achievement that smashes the previous 1.5 million from the 2017 general election!”. NUS.

I’m sure that the majority of these ‘new’ voters won’t be Tory or Brexit. I wonder how well the polls capture these young people’s voting intentions? The sort of people who understand tactical voting very well indeed?

We all had a shock at Corbyn’s performance at the last election, will the same thing happen this time?

Keep up, its the new (brexit) maths curriculum . Numbers are no longer a process of logic that make sense they are there to be invented. Similarly we are all going to be better off after Brexit even though we will have less money.

You assume there is HR scrutiny within the EU. It's a very big beast which doesn't always stick to it's own rules.

Not sure I would look at it like that Plooks.

If I had 2 points put on my licence, I wouldn't be thinking, how many more speeding infringements can I get away with before a ban, I would be thinking, how do i change my attitude to speeding so I dont get any more points and thus dont need to worry about the points total.

Out of interest, did she share her dislike for the institution that gave her a job?
