Did anyone remind them that the tories have been in power for the past 9 years?

They just seemed to have been completely gaslit. A number of them thought the economy is going to be booming in 6 months, hard lessons ahead I'm afraid..

...and therein lies the problem for them - and us. If this election goes the way they wish now, there will be more poverty and more tory spin - but in six months, there will be 4 + more years before anyone can do anything about it.

Calm down, dear. I don't recall having had a run in with you. 'A quite sensible tory supporter who's views offend me not' would have been my verdict, if pressed into making one.

Surely you're not another old fellah who thinks that Corbyn wants to come round and smash your greenhouse windows and shit on your patio?

Anyway, don't worry, you and your Boris are bound to win. Sunny Uplands. Relax. Have a cigar.

Edited: for misplaced punction, with tragic unforseen consequences :ffsparr: :lolol: Apols Hastings gull

He can't help himself, Looks like the nasty party will win.

I have wasted quite a few hours arguing the toss with people who think a Boris majority would be marvellous, and anything else a betrayal or disaster, and I'll not shift from my view that a Boris majority would be a disgrace......but it is going to happen though, isn't it?

So, dunno why the tory activists on here are getting so agitated and relentless. Have I missed something (a late massive upswing for Jezza) like I did last time? ???

If I were a Boris boy I'd have my feet up and the telly on, and wouldn't be poncing about on NSC posting tropes and dodgy web links - looks pathetic, frankly. Talk about using a sledgehammer to crack a broken nut

Some people are quite weird. Or paid. Yes, paid must be the answer. How much, I wonder? ???

Some people are quite weird

I can't help thinking,if this was broadcast on BBC1 at 8 o'clock the Tories wouldn't get back in for a generation. I feel quite ashamed to be British, tonight.

Will be interesting to see what the turnout is for the 3rd GE in 4 years and the first in December for 100 years.

A fair few people I speak to who would normally vote seemingly just can't be arsed.

The Tories have more support on NSC than a normal section of society. This has a lot to do with the mods refusing to deal with right wing extremism on here and making it safe space for them. Don't be fooled, most normal people abhor Boris.

Utter tosh mate, I recon there’s no more than ten vociferous Tories in here[emoji23], two of the busiest mods on this board slate the Tory Party regularly and I’d say you’re argument about normal section society is the wrong way round [emoji23]

It’s not so much can’t be arsed, more so completely disillusioned at the quality of candidates from all sides I can’t bring myself to vote for any of them. If the voting slip had a ‘none of the above’ option it would win by a landslide.

You are talking absolute bunkum! Apart from one particular poster I do not see any right wing extremism, and even that one is just winding people up. I feel that NSC is far more left wing than right, so maybe that is subjective. Boris? Many people laugh at him, some really dislike him, for most the use of abhor is just another example of leftie abuse.

I can't think of a single poster on this thread who doesn't realise that we import toys from China and sell, er, things to America so, yes, I do think you are being a bit pedantic, especially in view of your target.

PS Just for the record you DID tell us what Thunder Bolt was thinking. It's there in black and white.

except maybe thunder bolt who asked a ridiculously daft question.
“Deluded. How do you trade with a trading block when you haven't got a trade deal? "

Your biggest problem is the measurement of “normal” according to the parameters you have rattling around in your own head.

The Beeb are terrified of the Tories or any critique of their friends, its left to Channel 4 these days and they get threatened with removal of their broadcasting licence

So Trump has arrived in town, why is Boris keeping him a wide berth? What happened to the special relationship?

Anyone would think he had something to hide?

It's probably the biggest in justice in the UK today - Somehow a swathe of people are living in abject poverty and the majority of the rest of the country have been conned in to believing that they've blown it all on Sky, fags and booze.

I say that but people do know it's true, it just happens to satisfy that small section of sympathy in their head to think that well, it's their on fault isn't it? They're lazy, good for nothings who should be banned from having children. Sad times.

But mocking lefties and liberals for their arrogance is OK?

Anyway I admire your willingness to let them have access to power via PR. You do realise that under PR, unless a party gets over 50% of the vote (never happened in my lifetime) you always get a coalition, and by today's stats that could be labour plus others? ???

I mock gently, and I hope, never get nasty.
Not saying PR is the perfect solution, but I certainly feel that the extreme gladiatoral politics we are seeing at the moment and with populism running amok, it may be time to have a look at the alternatives. I am sure the clever politicos on here have views.

I'm repeatedly told this: "NSC is extremely right wing."

In equal measure, I'm also told this: "NSC is extremely left wing."

I would imagine that those who care to say either of these things just so happen to be on the opposite side of the political spectrum to the side they believe dominates these pages.

In terms of the moderators of NSC, I would say two are right of centre with the remainder left of centre to varying degrees. I put myself somewhere in the middle. I've voted for all three main parties previously, and I still do not know where my vote will go next week, and it's not because I feel spoilt for (high quality) choice.

NSC has long had the unwritten rule that if people want to say stupid things, they will be allowed to do so, as others will put them right. If stuff is illegal or in extremely bad taste then moderators will act either when they happen upon a post in their own usage of the site, or a post is reported and looked at.

There absolutely is NOT any sort of missive, coming from me or anyone else, to allow NSC to become a hive of extremism. Does that mean those with extreme views are allowed to post here? Yes it does, for as long as they remain within the loose rules of the site. And what is extreme for one, is anything but for others.

You have become more of a problem than any other user on NSC that I am currently aware of. Using the "NSC is a pub" analogy, you've become that drunken bloke who keeps staggering in calling the landlord and his staff a bunch of *****, and I'm getting fed up with it now.

Like anyone else, if you believe a post is "bad" then report it. Action will be taken where appropriate. You almost certainly will not be aware of action being taken because the only person who will know is the user who receives any form of warning. And just because a post you consider to be "bad" remains does not mean that no action has been taken.

However, if you report numerous posts in short order to try to prove some kind of point or, simply, because you're being an arse, then it makes it difficult for any action to be taken. You become the boy who cries wolf and there's not enough time to properly go through each and every report in a considered manner.

Frankly, it feels as if you have reached the point where a short break from here would do you good, but only you will know if that's the case or not.
