Marvellous scenes at the Labour live Q&A from Lancaster:

Nicola from The Mirror: 'Mr Corbyn, Mr McDonnell, if you nationalise broadband, will you stop people watching porn?'

Upon which Mr Corbyn sidles sideways and whispers urgently in Mr McDonnell's ear :lolol:

That's a mean question!

Yes = 'you're a liar because it can't be done'
No (the honest answer) = 'you are encouragng people (incuding potentially children) to watch porn'
Not sure = 'you haven't thought this through'

Quite. There's no right answer. Either The Mirror has stopped supporting Labour, or Nicola from The Mirror will be getting her P45 from The Mirror as soon as she gets back to the office :lolol:

Or maybe Nicola from the Mirror was just asking in a personal capacity...

Is that a bad thing though?

yes it is. they are not leaders, they are figure-heads which the people around them can control. its good to have input from others, leaders should have independent opinion to balance conflict or temper excessive views.

Time to flog your BT shares.

"Labour has said that BT shareholders would get government bonds in return for their shares, which pay a lower dividend than BT investors currently receive."

Also, slightly interested in how BT's pension deficit of £4/5bn will affect this dream.

Well, my take would be that Corbyn has rather too many independent opinions for the job, while Johnson doesn't have any opinions at all, just a head full of ever-changing froth and Latin quips from which he plucks words at random in order to justify whatever positiion he feels is in his own self-interest.

Or you could answer,

As with broadband currently the user takes responsibility to ensure correct age restrictions are in place and make their own choices as to the content they watch.

Not hard was it ffs.

Just about and reluctantly ruled Corbyn back in - so it's between him, the LibDems, Greens and spoiling ( for me ).

Pin the tail in the donkey ( but obviously not the current donkeys in charge ).

We need our country back from the snake oil sellers.

I wish I had confidence in Corbyn - it would be so easy then.

Which is undoubtedly the honest answer, but do you really think that the Daily Mail would report that as anything other than 'Corbyn says he won't stop children watching porn'

(on their website this headline would be run alongside a puff piece of nonsense written only to justify a series of photos of the 16 year child of a minor celebrity in a skimpy bikini, and before you ask how i know they do this it's because I read Private Eye, not the Daily Mail)

I couldn’t give two shits what the DM or any other paper/media platform reports to be perfectly honest. Life is way to short.

The truth is for most consumers broadband services aren't too bad in the UK.

However, for business its another matter. I know so called hi-tech towns in the Thames Valley that have sh1te broadband, like 1-2MB download. For large corporations they can pay for lease lines but for small businesses Open Reach just aren't interested.

I'm afraid Labour are really gonna get ridiculed on this one, they just haven't thought it through

Only if you believe Corbyn will get in. Otherwise it's time to buy them while the price is down and sell them in the post BoJo Government bounce.

It's almost like there are loads of ways to make money out of political decisions..........

Exactly. Just because there's a perfectly sensible answer it doesn't make the question any less of a hospital pass.
