So calling the ref a wanker is ok though? Or calling whoever is on the pitch thatthey are a wanker etc.

It's a football match and if your precious kids can't be hearing this then stay away.
So you think it's 'fine and dandy' for kids to hear homophobic chants aimed at them?

And there was me thinking this was a Community Stadium?

High up on the South Downs.
In Essex and East London the West Ham boys are denuding newsagents of the Daily Telegraph. They are already planning how their songs about anal sex and same sex s & m can reach new heights at the return fixture.

Because their brains won't allow them to believe that a couple of members of the opressed minority gay community actually don't give a shit about a little bit of childish abuse.

I dont doubt for one second that the vast majority of the gay community couldnt care less about the abuse. The gays i know would find it amusing, but they certainly wouldnt be arsed to phone me up about it. "laugh their socks off" down the phone, and use language like "Man up". Complete and utter Walter Mitty material I'm afraid.

I don't find the gay banter offensive in anyway, in fact I find it quite funny but I guess at the end of the day it is outdated and with my sensible head on very wrong. If I was to walk through kemp town singing the stuff that we get I'd get nicked. Perhaps the FA should get tough and deduct points from teams that do it. We would be in Europe in 2 years.

100% wrong.

It's because there are two people who may or may not exist who don't give a shit about 'a little bit of childish abuse' are being held up as representative of the entire gay community's attitudes.

No, but it's start.

To be honest the digs at wellquickwoody have been pretty pathetic. He's offered up a different opinion and all people can do is rubbish it because it doesn't fit in with their version of the world

Wrong again. It's because wellquickwoody has posted something of highly dubious legitimacy to reinforce his opinions.

He is, of course, entitled to them but that original post did nothing to enhance the validity of them, which has lead many to wonder why he put that post up in the first place.

Got to be honest Dan, I have tried to explain that my friends are real, their comments are real, and that it is just their opinion and words I am quoting, but I really cannot be arsed (see what I did there?) with you anymore.

I have brought an opinion to the table, to be discussed. You have brought nothing, just derided the comments of others, namely me, and called me a liar. It seems that you only listen or take note of comments and opinions which fit neatly inside the small space of your brain and complement your own, everything else must be false in your view.

I think the only person who should now be feeling embarrassed is you, due to YOUR small minded and BIGOTED views. Perhaps you do have something in common with the homophobes?

People can take the piss as much as they like about these chants, but in 2011 they need to stop.

Is there anyone who thinks it acceptable to sing 'take it up the bum' in a stadium filled with 1000s of kids?

Other than on the pitch you seldom hear racist shouts at games, so why the f*** are people saying homophobic chants are ok, and gay people don't really mind?

The law is quite clear, so the club need to act.

Oh so it's permissable to educate children at school about the alternative lifestyle, but openly explaining what it involves anatomically is not, eh?

 what complete nonsense. And what opinion have you brought to the table exactly? There was no "opinion" in your opening post at all. Just a claim that a fictional married gay couple that appaterently represent the entire gay community told you to "man up".

Now before accusing people of being small minded trot along and find out what an opinion is, then maybe come to one that concludes what a fuckwit you are?

I cannot be certain (because it was early!) but I'm sure I heard breakfast tv mentioning the possibility of playing fake crowd chants over the speakers to cover up homophobic chants? Did I really hear that?

Unfortunately I heard them say that as well. may be we should come up with some chants to play over the speakers when the homophobic chanting starts?
How about: some of us are gay, some of us are not, some of us are celibate and some of us are not sure yet?

There you go again, the only opinion you recognise is your own.

As for 'trot along'? :tosser:

....are laughing at us.

Tonight I received a phone call from a 'married' pair of gay male friends. They were laughing their socks off about the report on BBC TV Southeast that Albion fans had made official complaints about homophobic chanting.

They feel that this action will only make things worse, and was probably made by some attention seeking drama queen(s), their words not mine.

Well done to all those involved. :stupid:

Sent from my wardrobe whilst watching Susannah Reid and Sian Williams enjoy a clam sandwich.

so there you have it 1 % max of the homo crowd who have got one up the date about this shyte...........harden up boys innit,

What are you on about? :dunce: You gave no opinion, and on the subject of homophopbic chanting I have already said I dont have one either way. Why are you even talking about opinions? Seriously, stop now, that hole your digging is getting deeper and deeper.
