Yup - I’m a bit fat and will be going with my family up to see Mrs Mellotron’s family in Nottingham once we’re allowed.

loz, I feel your pain with sarcoidosis, it is not a well known disease, and research funding is minimal, so it is very little understood, and treatment regimes are pretty rudimentary and not progressing fast either. My MIssus has suffered with it for nearly 8 years now, but has been fortunate to receive first line care regularly at Royal Papworth Hospital throughout. She has been on prednisolone and methotrexate (chemo by tablet) for 7 years. She is retired early now, but was a very senior specialist nurse. If you think we can share some learning and ideas/knowledge that you think might help you and your young lad, please send me a PM. All the best. Wedgee.

West Highlands in June for me, it's probably the one thing to look forward to, with a definite date, that's helped me get through this.

All being well I'll be taking my son and daughter on the Jacobite steam train from Fort William to Mallaig and just enjoying the Highlands in general.

I know its not good news but why do news reporters have to do interviews inside a Covid ward? the woman on ITV news is dressed in all medical PPE doing interviews then later the same day is in the studio live during the news...Please stay out of the wards and let the staff get on with their jobs, Im sure you can interview someone outside....sorry if its in the wrong thread..

Mrs W got the call today, vaccine Friday. She is extremely vulnerable, and been on chemo for more than 7 years for a rare lung condition. Not ashamed to say we both just broke down in tears of joy when she got the call. Cant quite believe it.

My aunt in her 70s has had the news she's got a jab on Friday, and two family friends got one yesterday from the spares left over at the end of the day at the site they're volunteering at

Mum got her vaccine at the racecourse. We just got back to Peacehaven now. She was in and out within 25 mins. Very efficient.

Just back from Hampden Park Surgery, which is the Eastbourne/ Seaford vaccination hub. In and out in 20 minutes with the Pfizer shot. All very well organised.

340k confirmed vaccinations (first dose) yesterday, highest daily total so far

Infections 39k - 21.5% rolling 7 day decrease

Interestingly, and possibly the first sign of the best news of the day, rolling 7 day hospital admissions only showing a 0.5% increase.

Total patients admitted into hospital down for the first time since the start of this second/third phase of the outbreak, and the number of patients in hospital is levelling off. Looks like we are just past the peak, hospital wise. In fact most hospital stats are showing signs of levelling off now.


Also here’s the chart for the south east for hospital admissions, well on the downward slope now.
