This sentiment has been expressed before but can I just say how bloody brilliant this thread is.

My anxiety levels, like so many others, have been through the bleeding roof since March 2020 but the emergence of this thread and its calm presentation of nothing but factual good news has certainly helped.

Top work everyone.

All the toerags who gathered together at Xmas and New Year, ignoring advice, catching and spreading the virus, are now working their way through the system. Give it another week or so and the figures will start to improve quite a lot.

Sad to say but I think you are correct.
My grandson caught it at school the week before Christmas and gave it to mum and dad. They were tested positive on Dec 24th so our Christmas was cancelled, and as they were positive it was for a good thing... otherwise my wife and I might have caught it and my 89 year old mum.
There for the grace of God ( the old saying goes).

They have all recovered now and the grandson had no symptoms at all. Neither did his younger brother

Yes it’s great when we all concentrate on the factual good news and keep opinion on policy and behaviour elsewhere ..there is a whole separate forum for that ...have a good day

Hancock confirms we are now vaccinating at a rate of 200 people per minute, up from the 140 per minute quoted just a week or so ago.

Every celeb who gets one should be shouting it from the roof tops.

Especially the ones who can sucessfully speak to sub set of people who won't listen to reason.

Word of warning to anyone who sees the ‘South African variant MAY be able to beat the vaccine’ in the news, do not be alarmed, the press are reporting a study that has NOT been peer reviewed and the science of this study is utterly bizarre , they’ve tested antibody ONLY response on people who caught the virus normally months earlier and not had a vaccine, which evokes a much stronger immune response, in addition to that T & B cells were not even equated for.

I can’t believe the press are circulating this ‘study’ it’s shockingly bad.

There’s a link here to a Twitter thread that goes more in depth on it than I’m qualified to explain.

Also confirmed today the vaccines ARE effective against the dominant ‘U.K. strain’

Zoe covid app updated estimates for new daily infections stands at 34,131 which is less than 50% of the recent peak.

Still a way to go before this fully filters through to hospitalisations and deaths, but we're on the right track.

As stated great by Arnie, the Queen and others in any position of authority getting the right message out about having the vaccine
