Well I enjoyed my hot dog with onions, mustard and ketchup on Tuesday night. I also enjoyed the fact that it didn't take an age to queue for it cos there are more outlets now.

And the woman who served me didn't have offputting facial warts, like the one in last seasons burger van.

It's all very well saying don't use them - but that's not the point.

BG is right. The club is missing out on a lot of money - crap food is a false economy.

I think people would happily pay those prices for decent food - and it's not hard to make really, really good food for that sort of money. For instance, decent bacon butties are a piece of piss (Cambridge used to be superb at that - maybe stilll are - in a kitchen half the size).

What about proper soup too once it's cold? It's only bloody water with veg in for God's sake - any half decent chef can make it in no time and it would sell by the barrel.

There's a superb sarnie shop near me that does mega food for about 2 quid a pop. They shift tons of the stuff. That's the approach Albion should take and they'd still get away with charging more. All this processed, pre-packaged crap is hopeless. Make a huge pot of tea like a greasy spoon would FFS.

Has it ever occured to you all that BHAFC aren't in the mood for value for money but just want to make a fast buck ?

On Tuesday I had a 'Cornish Pasty' and by the time I got home I was farting for England. And I do mean farting for England!

Today, running late and also very hungry I decided to give the Pasty another go as I thought that the farts on Tuesday must have been from something I ate earlier in the day.

Wrong!

The Withdean Pasties are lethal weapons and are full of gas...ask Mrs Bwian. They are to be avoided.

You still don't get it do you? Supply better food for a small extra cost to produce, and they will make much more because people will actually buy it!!!

Your attitude throughout this thread IS exactly the same as the clubs. Don't care if you can't see the logic of improving it but it's yet another blunder by a club that falls short in far too many areas. It's not rocket science or that expensive to get it right and the profits on food are massive. Another missed opportunity by a club that sees Falmer as the holy grail and is not making the most of what they already have to lighten the cost on the way.

Pisses me off, DK has plenty of good points but is probably a better accountant than entrepreneur, which is everbody's loss.

If the price and quality is such that 100 people buy one the club earns far less than if they can persuade 1000 people to buy one.

It takes the same staff and electric etc to serve 100 as 1000 why not try and sell 1000 and make more profit

Blimey, how long would the queues be if they sold 10 times as many burgers? We'd have people leaving with about 20 minutes to go.

There's only 15 minutes to sell, so the club may as well make their money while they can. And, to reiterate, if you don't like the prices: don't use the services.

It's not about attitude it's choice which is what you have - use it or don't.

Why you lot think the club might change their stance and get it right is beyond me. When have they ever done that before ?

Withdean is a very similar to the catering, some are deciding not to use it, the club had better be careful that the same "take it or leave it attitude" doesn't go on for too long.

Archer and Stanley put us where we are but they are not responsible for some of the cavalier attitudes that the club still suffers from.

One improvement this season is that our bar of choice is now arranged with two counters. After queueing at the front counter, the tea and coffee are delivered to a separate counter at the side, where there's fresh milk in a jug (with a lid) and sugar lumps in a bowl - all under cover, with enough space for people to sort out their requirements quickly and efficiently.

This is much better than having a separate table six foot away, with a box of soggy sugar in paper wrappings and a load of punters slopping their coffees as they struggle to put them down on the table before they sort out their milk/sugar requirements.

And there's no litter from those stupid milk capsules and sugar wrappings.

The new arrangements seem to speed up the queue as well.

Beach Hut has missed the point with the whole 'you don't have to use it' argument. You do have to use it. It's effectively a monopoly for the time you're in the ground. And any decent business should provide adequate and fairly-priced facilities if they want to keep their customers.

But this isn't a new argument, we all know our current situation has made the club chase our money and to hell with the consequences with all the zeal of an over-officious parking attendant.

That's good then. At least they have done something to improve things there... a few more common sense touches all round would help a great deal.

As for ppl saying, "how long would the queues be if the food was any good?", or words to that effect, FFS... a queue means money means profits means players ultimately. Get more servers if that happens or a bigger van...

It's like Richard Branson never existed, reading this board!!

It always amazes how the average football supporter puts up with shit standards at high prices though. The only way to change it is not to buy it. The club needs to make money but why put up with shit you wouldn't feed to a stray dog.

I said it before but I really believe a lot of football fans would buy a dog turd if you stuck a club badge on it. :shootself

WTF??? This smacks of a wind-up, but in case it isn't you seem to be inferring that the above is a no-holds-barred attack on everyone working in the catering industry, and that anyone wearing a silly white hat and check trousers should be put against the wall and shot. Which it clearly isn't.

People just want value for money. However, if you are in catering I'd keep the opinion that 'decent food is wasted on people that q' to yourself. The public don't like that sort of thing, look at Gerald Ratner...yeah, ok, he's still a multimillionaire.
