Quite a sweeping statement to include ALL of Sussex.
You know very well that us up here in Crowborough areas get snow every year :)
Yeah but Crowborough is basically the Arctic Circle in Sussex terms. Had relatives there and whenever we visited, we made sure we wrapped up warm as it was always about five degrees colder than the rest of the county!

Not of course to be rude to anyone involved, hopefully it goes without saying. But you are asking for meteorological advice from someone who once asserted that there would be no snow in Sussex that winter. Literally while it was snowing. In Brighton.
I do not recall that but it could be true

Sat evening to the early hours of Monday:

The Southern Uplands, likely snow.
Sussex will be very mild and wet. I’m not seeing a snow event for SE England on any trusted website.

I thought we were the southern uplands, or the Brighton uplands at least.

Agree though, a warm and wet Saturday evening. 40 years ago that was exactly what we used to look forward to

Another big reason why I started skiing in 1980. If the snow seldom came to Sussex, go to the snow.

Netweather showing snow for Findon between 9-11pm. But then turning to rain quickly thereafter.

There has been a pattern of forecasting in the last few years which seems to follow like this:

10 day forecast - suggests snowmeggedon for Sussex
5 days out - edges back
1 day out - it's not happening, forget it.
On the day - sometimes a surprise, mostly not, its 5 degrees plus you nutter.

It's not even just a Sussex problem by the way. My daughter was in Nottingham for three years and only got snow on 2 days. They've taken our snow away.

Will rapidly turn to rain here Saturday evening battle line for snow is much further north at moment. Thursday evening into Friday is a possible for some wintery weather

I am in Warwick and I reckon we are on the battle line. New sledges arrived today so I am hopeful we can go locally but not nailed on. The kids hockey team I coach have an extra training session scheduled for Sunday morning because the next round of England cup is Sunday week but I would rather be sledging. I can tell them all to do fitness by running up the hills.

My prediction is that it will be took crap for hockey but not good enough for sledging.

Lessons learnt here. Don’t follow netweather snow predictions, also GFS etc models days out and the websites that turn gfs data into colourful weather maps. The same for the skiing world. Literally several times every winter Sussex is shown to receive a few cm of snow, Wales a metre. In reality settled snow on the Sussex coastal belt is incredibly rare.

I stick to ecmwf data, in the very short term BBC/MetOffice are decent.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
There are weather warnings coming out of our ears round here, but it won't be snowing locally.
