Will be very surprised if that yellow warning doesn’t move about 100 miles further North. Think they’ve gone a bit early with this as the charts are all over the place. I don’t want to be US but I see zero chance of snow down here on Saturday.

I am old enough at 62 to remember many glorious 80s winters with deep snow here. Not happening again. We are 5c higher now

I recall deep snow in 82 and 87. Then nothing until a tiny amount in 93.
We were all told at the turn of the millennium that Sussex would never get snow again, but between 2009-2013 that theory was proved very wrong.
It won’t happen often, but it will more than likely happen again.

Early 1985 was also very bad, with knee-deep snow drifts in Sussex. I remember as I had a postal round at the time!

67 was bad, snow half way up the front door. Now all we get is a dusting if we are lucky

We did have one day last year in Worthing for a few hours with lying snow during the day when I was driving. It melted shortly afterwards, though.

Not of course to be rude to anyone involved, hopefully it goes without saying. But you are asking for meteorological advice from someone who once asserted that there would be no snow in Sussex that winter. Literally while it was snowing. In Brighton.

Yeah. My dad passed away that February. It snowed the day of his funeral Valentines Day
(this was North of Brighton though)

You know very well that us up here in Crowborough areas get snow every year
