It's still no more true. Road conditions and safety of spectators is still a big factor. It won't be a problem this week, but just because a pitch is playable it doesn't mean the game will be.
I'm sorry but you're completely and totally wrong. I run a football club and I know for a FACT that if the GAME can be played then regardless of whether supporters can reach the game or not then it will be.
If a set of supporters cannot reach a game for whatever reason then that's of no consequence to the Football League or the FA.

You do not run a professional football club. The difference between park / county level is very different.
We lost games at Withdean all the time due to local conditions and not the state of the pitch.
