So, model readers, if it plays out as predicted, would driving from Bristol mid-Friday afternoon look a foolish thing to attempt right now?

Yes, sadly. Will keep the M4 open? :nono:

Met Office showing Brighton to Crawley getting the snow from 10 am Friday, until midday Saturday.
The other models say different.

Interesting to see how it all pans out.

Well, it's currently mainly the GFS that agrees, although there seems to always be a trend for systems to be adjusted southwards as they get closer to arrival, so that's a worry. The Met Office view is still for prolonged snow here and further East / North

Sister and 4 week old baby due to drive down from Bristol too on Friday morning/lunch time. Not looking the best of ideas!

When you say worry, do you mean worry that the snow will miss us, or be more intense over us?

Just checked the forecast, and snow from early Friday morning until late on Sunday, with pretty much no breaks.

Should be interesting.

Wont Brum have good heating and pitch protection from their PL days?

They'll probably call it off on Health and Safety grounds because there is a small frozen puddle outside the away end. That's only after we've struggled to get there on the train. The pitch will be fine.

i don't think the pitch will be the problem, crowd safety and perhaps the railways will be the issue. with that said, st andrews isn't a public transport-only destination (in the way that the amex is) so i'm not sure if that would count for too much.

Not relevant for most on here, but there's a few oop north. Just seen the forecast on ITV (local weather) and they seem to e panicking - suggesting 25cm's of snow over the tops (my drive to work!) with blizzard like conditions and at least 10cm to lower levels. Love it!

Jobsworths justifying their killjoy jobs.

That and the blame/claim culture that's made it's way across the Atlantic.

Is your love it genuine or sarcastic?

Bozza I'd wait to make your decision Thursday night, as the forecast is a long way from finalised. Things may well change by then.

Yep. We've already had the typical precautions, constant emails and so on regarding safety in 'adverse weather' conditions from the Uni Staff, all quite silly really. As i say, not forecast above freezing until at least a week's time, and snow forecast from tomorrow night until Sunday.

Lets wait and see.
