anyone who puts the word "well" into a sentence like you have needs a hard look in the mirror. and forced whats it's worth I'm 39 and love the snow.

Very much this. Living on THE steepest hill in Brighton, me and the lad are praying for some snow.

Or they have to take the day as annual leave. For most the snow is a right f***ing pain in the arse.

Ah f***ing diddums, just be grateful you have paid annual leave to take it from. Not everyone is afforded this luxury.
Most like myself just loose a days pay, no big deal bring on the snow !

I'm doing my snow dance, it's embarrassing, it's nippy on the bolloxs, but I hope it works

What about us who have to pay an entire workforce a days pay. Pay compensation to our customers who's freight cannot get to where it's going as they sit and wait at Exhibition centres across Europe as the Exhibition they are attending is the one BIG one in their Industry calendar and their products do not arrive because we in the SE of England could not move when the city they are in is under 2 foot of snow and they can.

Our inability to deal with this snow shit will put my business under this year if yet again our road, rail and air links grind to a halt.

But hey ho, have a good day sledging.

This.

Such a rare event in Sussex over the last 20 years, that a day or 2 extra, out of an entire year or years, at home actually spending time with the family isn't going to bring down businesses. Enjoy the rare winter wonderland whenever it happens.

Most? Most people i know get paid annual leave except tradesman which is a small minority.

So you'd rather not get paid than get paid? Okkkkk then! To a lot of tradesman and their families that is a big deal!!!

I think you will find there more people in the uk who do not get paid than do. Its not just tradesmen.
Its anyone who is self-employed
I would always rather get paid of course, but the upside is if i don't get paid i don't have to work. But yours are freebies.
I'm certainly not bothered about a day here and there. bring on the snow, life for living not working.

Loose a days pay? Is that a days pay not being tied very tightly?

If the wind were to swing 90 degrees around to the NE, we could have a potential streamer forming off the Norfolk/Suffolk coast headed our way.

Any updates on the weather?

For Brighton, Metcheck shows snow in the early hours of the morning which will turn into sleet which will turn back into heavy snow. Little bit early hours of Tuesday but thats all, Wednesday and Thursday nothing, Friday sleet and Saturday overnight snow only. Will probably change though.

Birmingham is currently clear for Saturday, but there is snow there the Friday night. Will feel like -10 there on Saturday !!

Metcheck

Or

Bbc/met office?

I think I'll opt for the latter.

It was mentioned a few posts ago, but there is a significant clump of showers moving into the Thames estuary. Not technically a steamer yet, as that is an inland feature, but if that is able to push inland without totally evaporating then East Sussex would potentially be in the firing line; plus we've got lighter stuff coming down from the NW.

Rain Today

What temps are people seeing around the county at the moment?
