After a week of looking forward to a snow day looks like it is not going to happen - we may be lucky monday night into Tuesday.

I think we'll still get snow Mon into tues, but the problem is the milder air will probably turn it to rain for a period.

Not happy all this build up and then nothing. Bit like a girl licking ya tip then going to sleep.

Think this thread should be deleted.

Is this not what I said earlier when everyone disregarded it ? I said it was much milder than forecast and tomorrow will be 6C now and not 1C meaning we will get rain like yesterday.

Still an East West split. Brighton definitely has a lot more chance of snow than Worthing which makes me cross and disappointed and a little sad.

Yes, I've seen mention that West of Brighton will turn to rain, whereas to the East could be all snow. A bit if altitude will help as well, so the downs could get some.

The most curious thing..
Met offices say snow tonight up here but turning to rain Monday am. Currently cold but clear.

Also alot of councils may have reduced their winter gritting budgets as part of the cuts, so it might be more icy on the roads than in previous years.

Metcheck is still uncertain, seems to be some snow in Eastbourne in the early hours of tomorrow morning, but it warms up turning it into rain, nothing really then until Friday where it changes between sleet and snow, which is showing as heavy on Friday night.

Will be raining on Saturday now as well - looks like it might be a bit of a non-event after all.

The latest GFS has the 850hpa temp rising to -2 as the front moves down.

Looks like that little warm front sticking off the occluded front is just going to pass over us first causing us to just miss out.

Our best hope is that the front and low system moves down slightly more to the west or the whole front becomes occluded as it move down getting rid of that slightly warmer air.
