Nothing wrong with being attacking, but when you re allowing the bowling team to dictate your shots you are not in control. Pretty dismal from England who are falling for the blatantly obvious Aussie trap. Damage limitation for this innings now.

Baz ball Bollox no point if you lose ashes 5-0
Nothing wrong with the concept of looking to score fast, but your batsmen still need to have a brain. England have thrown 3 or 4 wickets away, and that was easily the worst of the lot.

And Stuart Broad is shockingly crap against short stuff. He'll be out soon. I don't understand why they don't put him further down the order against this.

They have no spinner - see how long these fast bowlers can continually run in and pummel the ball into the ground at 90mph, surely stokes himself knows how much effort this ploy requires ESPECIALLY with no spinner

It’s so irritating because I do love this brand of cricket, but you have to have some brains to accompany it, we’ve basically gifted them it by refusing to just swallow your pride for a few overs and stop trying to hoik every ball 200 yards

Damage is already done. Can’t see the bunnies supporting YJB for long.

No point criticising Bazball, it’s like De Zerbi’s football - it doesn’t give the players free rein to make dreadful mistakes. It is a mental approach to the sport which still requires technical competence and common sense.

The errors aren’t a fault of showing ambition in playing the game a certain way.

RDZ ball is all about calculated risks and tactics, this version of ***ball where the opponents bowl it short and we continue to brainlessly hit it straight to fielders, isn’t based on any theory it’s just nonsense because we can’t apply ourselves for a few overs.

I’m all for attacking shots but the odds are so heavily stacked against batsman when the field is set like that it’s just idiotic to continue hulk smash mode.

We're ahead on Win Predictor by quite a way.

Odd thing that 52/38/10.

Bairstow being a plank may have changed that.

But Bazball isn’t asking them to do that, it’s asking them to attack the shots they should be attacking. The problem is then it’s down to the players to use individual decision making once on the field. It’s like RDZ ball because the plan isn’t for Sanchez to drop an easy cross, or Steele to side foot it to an opposition striker when playing out from the back.

Individual mistakes cost games, which is what we are seeing now.
