If this prolonged spell of short stuff continues, Anderson (and Broad to a lesser extent) are going to struggle in future Tests.

Age catches up with is all

You wouldn’t get many new fans into the game watching this would you ? Is it Bazball bowling ?

Take it on you pussy Aussie pricks!! You’re 1 up and 305 in the lead with 5 wickets in hand. How can you be that scared with the match at your mercy?

Before Bazball you had Gilchrist and they were the big attacking team in test cricket. This is so un-Australian.

Tbf 'Tubby' Taylor is a decent commentator and seems decently impartial, took time to point out that umpires will have to keep an eye on this for BOTH sides going forward.
I'm not sure what I think about it really. England are clearly using it as a tactic to keep the run rate down and also take wickets at the same time. It's not intimidatory bowling.

The problem is that the game becomes one dimensional. It would be a nauseating series if this was all we saw from both sides.

Tubby is right to express concern. It is something that needs to be watched, even if only from the point of view of how it affects the game as an entertainment spectacle.

The West Indies looked f***ed against the mighty Scotland. No World Cup for them ?

The end paragraph is quite key. Is this the sort of entertainment McCallum and Stokes think it's going to "save: test cricket"?

Yes, he is a good commentator but his point seems to have only been made once England started doing it. For the Aussies it was to encourage England’s batting aggression whereas for England it is to counter the negativity of Australia. Takes two to tango and anybody complaining about the short stuff could equally be talking about Australia’s unwillingness to try to score runs.
