We could get some kind of steer in the accounts - either they will have made a provision for a settlement, or they will disclose the possibility of a court case, or, if they don't do either, it will be implicit that nothing is expected to be paid out. Gus was sacked on 24 June, just before the year-end, so any compensation payable or even thought to be likely at that time, even if it now appears less likely, can be booked in these accounts, unless they relate to actions post 30 June. I think all the controversial stuff happened pre that date. we will see.

When do the statutory accounts come out?

They have been sent to Companies House already. They will make them available for download (for £1 for each company) when they've processed them. They're not there yet.

Just to clear up a couple of misunderstandings that have already been posted on here.

Cash is NOT the same as profit/loss. Tony can keep the club solvent (i.e. having enough cash). A cash injection does not impact on profit or loss. Any interest on a loan would impact on profit/loss, but the loans have been interest free.

Any investment in the training ground infrastructure will be a capital item and shown as an asset on the balance sheet and does not affect profit/loss until the asset starts to be depreciated. So, new investment in the infrastructure at the AMEX or in the training ground will not be a contributory factor to the increased loss.

Finally, these new accounts are for the year 1 July 2012 - 30 June 2013. Anything that happened after that date will not be in the figures, but there may be a note saying that XXX happened after 30 June 2013 and will be accounted for in the current year's accounts. This only happens if XXX is a big thing - for example, last year there was a note (known as a "post balance-sheet event") that said that Tony had converted £40m of debt into shares.

A little, yes. Mainly because it started off by some people saying they were a bit disappointed by the transfer window, that was then blown completely out of proportion, suggesting anyone that mentioned such absurdities aren't real fans, should walk away now, don't they remember where we were 5 years ago and so on. Not a single fan would want us to get into uncontrollable financial trouble, but that shouldn't mean you can't say the window was disappointing, we all know the club are trying to save the pennies but you can't tell me nobody would liked to have acquired an exciting new player in the window, it's part of the fun of following a team surely?

He was constantly bemoaning the lack of money, hence the rubbing the fingers gesture towards the directors box and his constant gripes about not getting a striker before Ulloa arrived.

Given these losses and how thorough Barber seems to be, I'm certain they wouldn't increase the playing budget if they didn't think it was affordable. Those new sponsorship deals Barber has been striking must be pretty lucrative

Compared to some other clubs we do have relatively little money spent on players. Although if total costs are £20.9 million it puts us probably about 8th/9th in the division, compared to 14th the previous season.

I'm awaiting my copy of the Deloitte Annual Review of Football Finance, but that won't be published until June, which gives a very detailed analysis (but they charge £1,000 a copy to punters, accountants are wealthy for a reason).

However I've been reviewing some Football MBA submissions as part of the day job, and one is an analysis of Bolton, and it showed that Bolton (who still made a humungous loss) have £5.07 of TV money for every £1 of gate receipts, whereas the Albion had only 50-55 pence of TV money for every £1 of gate receipts.

CMS wouldnt have affected the 12-13 financial year as it happened in the Summer of 2011. Vicente, Wayne Bridge, Orlandi, Ulloa, Kooshack, Upson, Dave, Hammond and Crofts all wouldnt have been cheap, including signing on fees.

I would suggest like others have alluded to much of the debt as with the year before would be one of expenditure and write off's/depreciation. Many of these are not true costs ie directly need money to paid off. That said our playing budget did increase dramatically.

TB is obviously still maintaining the clubs bank balance but I doubt he actually put in anywhere like the figure of 15 million.

Furthermore all the hype and "bad" blood being shown by Knight in his book, these figures certainly highlight how far off he was from ever building the ground and financing the club long term in this division. We would have been in mire big time by now.

Following the expansion, the average attendence went from 20,029 in 2011/12 to 26,236 in 2012/13 (a 23% increase), yet this only equated to an extra £500k in ticket sales, an increase of 3.5% ?? Even less than that if they're lumping commercial and retail sales in with that figure.

Doesn't seem to add up, unless I'm missing something.

It does not seem to make sense, that works out at £80 per seat or under £4 a game, if the commercial and retail income had stayed the same.
