Was there a chap mixing wine and beer? He was sitting quite close to where Root was fielding.

Clarke was trying to be too clever with his bowlers, I thought. Harris has been their best bowler in the series and he only gave him three overs first up, then brings him back without giving him a proper chance to warm up so he is bowling at 77mph. Starc was bowling rubbish, get him off after three, fair enough, but Harris needs six overs spells as it takes him one to get going.
It looks pretty flat to me, nailed on draw if they lose any more time to rain. Root and Cook looked solid enough.
I was at the oval and ive never known a test match reek of draw more than what we witnessed both from the players and in the stands today.
No. I wasn't there today.
Ha ha. That tickled me. He was definitely concocting a dirty pint.
What's interested me today is the fact Cook didn't give Kerrigan even one over, yet still let Trott bowl a few. Is that a ruthless streak coming out? Kerrigan must be feeling shit right now.
I went yesterday. All that crap about wanting to rub the Aussies noses in it, and we pick two complete no-hopers who were frankly an embarrassment. Feel sorry for Kerrigan, but how can it be that you can't risk bowling someone IN A TEST MATCH unless you put five (yes, five) fielders on the boundary. It seems the selectors had decided to hell with punters paying close on £100 to watch a proper competition....let's just treat it like a practice match. Can someone please remind them that this is The Ashes. Perhaps that doesn't matter any more? End of rant!
Not sure why we needed Kerrigan when Root has been bowling well. Seemed unnecessary unless the selectors genuinely thought he was a long term potential replacement for Swann. Surely there are better options than this chap?
Read that. It wouldn't surprise me - he'll be 35 next year and has elbow problems. I hope he'll go on for another couple of seasons but he could decide to call it a day. He's a natural for a media career. The cupboard does look bare for up and coming spinners - Danny Briggs seems to have stalled his career - he was meant to be the next big thing.Interesting thought on Swann's future from the usually clued up George Dobell on Cric Info today may also shed some light on the Kerrigan selection
"While it had been presumed that Monty Panesar would inherit Swann's role in this side - and there are whispers that this could, just could, be Swann's final Test in England - recent revelations about Panesar have thrown some doubt over his long-term involvement. Suffice it to say, it would be naive to conclude that his bizarre behaviour in Brighton recently was simply an aberration."
