Decent ball outside off - DOT
Long hop - 1
Long hop - 1
Loopy wide outside off stump - DOT
Better ball - DOT
On the spot - DOT

4 out of 6 aint awful, I guess... but lucky to escape with 2 singles off the rank long hops.

It is amazing how difficult it is for someone who is clearly a good bowler coming in to Test cricket.

Ooops... starts the next over with a shoulder high full toss... no ball goes for four. :nono:

And gets away with a short, wide one.

I know Oval pitches are generally a bit flat and slow, but come on, we need to be producing the best and most exciting test pitches in the world if we are to wave the flag of this being the most important part of the game.

Got to have pitches with more in it for the bowler than this.

Feel sorry for Woakes in all honesty, even Michael Holding said he'd have packed up and gone home after a first look at this pitch this morning.

Cook's drop is now looking like the most important point in the match so far. 150-3 is now 230-3, Watson has added 46...

AAAARGH! Cook drops Watson off Anderson :nono:

Jimmy got a bit more bounce, went through at knee high to his right... disappointing... and hopefully not too costly (150-3, Watson 104)

Watson onto his highest ever test score, 129 runs without loss added since the dolly drop.

I'd say on a sliding scale of costly, this getting along to pretty much the far end!

Stunning catch by KP. Broad's foot behind the line by a couple of millimetres!

Massive wicket to end the day on. Should have been 139 runs ago though mind!!

Swann 24
Harris 20
Jimmy 19
Broad 18
Sidle 17

You'd think if we bowl this lot out today, there's only really 3 candidates to take the wickets. Unfortunately, 2 of those candidates could still overtake Swann.

A nice 5for today for Swann & you'll be picking up those well deserved winnings!

Harris's total is even more impressive when you consider he missed the first test.

I guess being glad of rain is unsporting and wrong, but 3-0 is better than 3-1 so let it rain!

We're hardly staring down the barrel of defeat just yet. Crikey, I thought I was pessimistic, but hoping for rain after 1 days play on a flat track at 307-4!?

Saturday isn't looking too clever either, weather wise. It's hard to see England getting anywhere near a winning position.

They can make lost time up. We've had 1 days play with 4 left. There is plenty of cricket left in this test match.
