Last Week Tonight with John Oliver had a big feature on him yesterday (tonight in the UK) and what might happen in his second term.

He'll die of old age?

Project 2025, or the Presidential Transition Project, is very scary indeed. Anyone on here seriously backing/defending Trump (somehow, the utter morons) needs to have a read

I read it and like it. Most of it is a response to left-wing corruption and authoritarianism and is a way of steam rollering the left out of institutions. some of it is fake. People are not going to tolerate Marxist BLM and antifa torching cities and killing dozens of people again, its either going to police/military deal with them or it will be the militias, one I saw swore in about 2,000 veterans the other day.

The insurrection act will be combined with civil rights laws to deal with politicians and media who instigate or encourage violence, as well as activist judges.
Nice attempt at a Kafka trap but this is just a US version of Javier Mille in Argentina and the UK is going to need one soon, its what happens when the left turns everything to shit.
The Muslim ban is/was fake news and the implementation of Christian edicts in institutions as writ is unconstitutional.

'steam rollering the left out of institutions'

Sounds like it is a plan to eradicate political opposition and those who think differently.

I'm not surprised you like it but anyone with any sense would see this as problematic.

I read the first paragraph about the US being in the grip of the radical left. What a load of shit. They really need to cite a few examples of how they perceive this is happening. Absolute straw man idea to base this on.

Remember, Biden is the one losing his marbles (according to some):

I think it's always worth actually reading what he said written out to really see just how unhinged it is:

No water in your faucets. You ever try buying a new home and you turn on. You want to wash your hair or you wanna wash your hands. You turn on the water and it goes drip, drip the soap. You can't get it off your hand. So you keep it running for about 10 times longer. You trying, the worst is your hair. I have this beautiful luxuriant hair and I put stuff on. I put it in lather. I like lots of lather because I like it to come out extremely dry because it seems to be slightly thicker that way. And I lather up and then you turn on this crazy shower and the thing drip, drip and you say I'm gonna be here for 45 minutes. What? There's so much water. You don't know what to do with it. You know, it's called rain. It rains a lot in certain places. But, now their idea, you know, did you see the other day? They just, I opened it up and they closed it again. I opened it, they close it, washing machines to wash your dishes. There is a problem. They don't want you to have any water. They want no water
Washing machines to wash your dishes? What a time to be alive!

I could have picked any number of threads to post this on, but it seems as relevant here as anywhere.

Can I recommend Jon Ronson's podcast, 'things fell apart', which tells a number of 'origin stories' about the culture wars.

Both series are very very good, but I think the second is probaby better than the first, partly because I think he begins to dig slightly deeper into the interactions between politics/politicians and the stoking of culture war. In the first I think maybe he tries (understandably) a little too hard in his quest to talk about the culture wars without becoming a part of those wars.

Anyway, extremely insightful and thought provoking while also being great entertainment.

I guess there is a little more context to it than this! Philadelphia is a Democrat stronghold, and in parts of it they have just introduced restrictions on personal water use to cope with the heatwave. So, he's basically rambling on about the democrats imposing water restrictions. I suppose it does make some sort of sense.

In an alarmingly incoherent way for someone who sees himself as the next leader of the free World.

What with Milkshake-Putin and Truss-Trump in the UK blaming the war in Europe on the EU, Macron having to go to the polls to stop Marie Le-Putin taking over France, Sunak running a back street betting syndicate, while Starlingrad- Starmer is silencing anyone in the Labour Party that isn’t … well, Labour, I really feel I’m not in Kansas anymore Toto. 😳

And what does this even mean? …Is Trump suggesting the Democrats are stealing rainwater? ???

Trump in the last couple of weeks has extolled the virtues of Hannibal Lecter without realising he is a fictional character.
Did you hear Trump talking at a rally of Christian Conservatives in Washington about his conversation with UFC President Dana White about having a Migrant League of Ultimate Fighters.

You know that Trump would like to be that Emperor watching them fight to the death, giving the thumbs up or down. He'd f*cking love that.
