I think that's a little unfair and maybe disingenous. Hillary relatively significantly beat Trump in the popular vote.

Fair point, but she was unpopular in the key states and she lost to Trump, which by default makes her awful haha
I personally don't believe Vance was a good appointment, I was quite surprised he didn't go for someone much more popular, well known and generally liked by hispanic voters.

I agree, but they were confident he could out debate her, his ego wouldn't let him pick someone more popular

Also, his thinking would be pick someone that came out against him to try and show unity.
Ah, I'm not sure.
There was a video leaked just after the debate of him bragging about beating harris.

Maybe, I think it could go either way. More ammunition (should she make any flub/s as president) for the red team to use against her during the election campaigns. And on the other foot, more experience and confidence having performed in the role for a few months.
I do think it'd be a net-negative though if Biden were to vacate the Presidency at any time.

It will also be spun as her letting someone who is clearly not fit continue.

Apologies, I should been more clear in my post.

I'm specifically curious as to the total % of support she gets from her party, at the August convention, after having the next couple of weeks or so front-and-center of the media, leading rallies etc.

For reference, Trump got 95% endorsement from the Reds, I wonder if Harris will get a similar backing - not that it really means anything or has much consequence, just my for my own curiosity.

Biden hasn’t been seen since being diagnosed with Covid 6 days ago sparking some insane conspiracy theories and bizarre demands for ‘proof of life’ from Republicans.

For those more interested in the facts …😉

President Joe Biden will address the Nation on Wednesday evening at 8pm ET - (about 1am BST)

Biden tests negative for Covid, says physician

Joe Biden has tested negative for Covid-19 and his symptoms have “resolved”, the White House physician Kevin O’Connor said.

A letter shared by the White House reads:

The President’s symptoms have resolved. Over the course of his infection, he never manifested a fever, and his vital signs remained normal, to include pulse oximetry. His lungs remained clear.
The president “continues to perform all of his presidential duties” and will “continue to be monitored for any recurrence of illness,” his physician said.

I've seen it argued that JD Vance was an arrogant pick (and also an arrogant prick, but I digress) intended as a victory lap over a fatally flawed Biden. He was never intended to pick up extra votes from undecided (it being decided that they didn't need them) and instead to stoke the base (again). He was also a last minute pick pushed by Donald Trump Jr (who bears more than a passing resemblance to Vance, if you wanted to unpack that weirdness) over the more boring (but less threatening) Doug Burgum.
my read of it, Vance is the closest person Trump could find to himself and the least established Republican. therefore more likely to continue the Trumpist "ideals" (like he has any) when called upon and not swayed to do the right thing. a more conventional pick who either brings a state or group with them are liable to prioritise the party in a pinch. like that awkward Pence fella. it's thin reasoning though.

Noises that Trump is already wanting to replace Vance.

Starting to look like a clusterfuck for the Republicans.
The guy may be completely phoney, but the biggest issue for Trump is he’s smart, too smart ..

People have been criticizing her flippant and very out of place mocking-style laughing since at least 2019 when discussing medicare, immigration, the border crisis and Afghanistan.

But I believe that you already knew that. 🙃

Nonetheless, when the best attack line that the opposition have on you is that you’ve laughed, I do wonder quite what pit of endless despair a prospective MAMA (Make America Miserable Again) voter exists in.

To be totally honest, I haven't followed or read much from prominent Republicans regarding Harris since Biden formally withdrew from the race.

I assumed their 'attack line' was associated with her frequent out of place laughing at innapropriate moments and discussions.
If they're genuinely just attacking her purely because she 'laughed', with no further context, then that is of course silly.

I suspect there’s more to it and that it’s more as you say, but nonetheless, the attack lines that I’ve heard so far have either been outright fabrications with a thick layer of misogyny, or been that Kamala Harris laughs.

I’m not sure that’s quite the killer line that Donald’s press people think it is.
