So how much nicer is it watching football again chaps? You’ve done the right thing for sure and taken the risk. I genuinely say fair play for doing it as it’s so much better to watch than Roy’s defensive approach eh…

Yes it is .

My money is on the Spiv himself. I believe he paid for, provided and planted this banner. I would think he is more worried about the league having a ‘big 7’ instead of a ‘big 6’ and Palace being thrust further down pile than any moral outrage though.

Looking forward to the next banner that the Premier League’s new self appointed moral guardians are going to unveil. Will it be against Chelsea around how Abramovich acquired the state assets and made his billions or will they protest against Man City’s owners who are accused by amnesty international of trying to “sportswash” their country’s “deeply tarnished image”?

Of course not, because Chelsea and Man City are not relegation rivals for Palace.

Chelsea and Palace seem to have a very good working relationship.

The way I read that is, the Premier League has blood on their hands because they accept the Saudis. For me its a dig at the Premier League not Newcastle. The problem is that the Premier League doesn't take any of that stuff into account not that they think its ok, They have fought this Saudi takeover for something like two years, so much so there was going to be a court case over this in January. Would the Premier League have won it? I don't think they actually want the Saudis here anymore than anyone else.

Think the banner is great but to allow better coverage on TV perhaps a huge rainbow banner with the words "Human Rights" or similar that highlights their awful treatment of normal people.

The club would have a difficult time stopping it as it would be in itself discrimination against a known campaign.

Maybe they can do a ‘why’d you let it bounce’ banner - I’m 100% convinced they’d have done it for their next home game if the roles were reversed. 100%

Being investigated by the police apparently:

Police are investigating a graphic banner displayed by Crystal Palace fans that targeted the Saudi Arabian-led takeover of Newcastle United.

Good on Palace for this one from me. Quite why the police are involved is beyond me.

If anyone thinks that this sort of scum pond life gives a shit about human rights in Saudi Arabia, you need to give your head a serious wobble.

The focus is on the banner. Not these clowns

I assume it’ll be the Spurs drumming co-ordinator that will be in trouble here - poor lad.

So they ran scared then? Typical weakness

Because someone (or more than one person) has reported it to them. So they are obligated to investigate the complaint. They have no option. Not sure why the police are getting a hard time on this. Don’t blame the police, blame the idiot(s) who filed a formal complaint.

Anti homophobia from a club who are the most homophobic in the country and used to have thousands singing the cringey song about ‘taking it up the bum’ - mainly sung by those group of attention seeking bellends. Actions speak louder than words - they are attention whores and hypocrites.

I agree with the banner of course, just won’t be slapping the vile always ultras on the back - many of whom also broke into the Amex and injured innocent stewards and stopped their own fans who had tickets getting in…

And painted their own teams bus by accident… and gave it the mouth and all ran away at Man Utd etc etc

Oh no don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming the police for this. I meant what you've said there basically.

Just phrased it wrong

Where were Palace when this happened:

The Abu Dhabi led takeover of Manchester City has rightly received condemnation and anger.

By endorsing this, the Premier League has made a mockery of it’s own ‘Owners and Directors’ test.

The Premier League has chosen money over morals and in green lighting this deal, has done business with one of the world’s most bloody and repressive regimes.

According to human rights organisations, the government of the UAE violates a number of fundamental human rights. The UAE does not have democratically elected institutions and citizens do not have the right to change their government or to form political parties.

Activists and academics who criticize the regime are detained and imprisoned, and their families are often harassed by the state security apparatus. There are reports of forced disappearances in the UAE, many foreign nationals and Emirati citizens have been abducted by the UAE government and illegally detained and tortured in undisclosed locations.

In numerous instances, the UAE government has tortured people in custody (especially expats and political dissidents), and has denied their citizens the right to a speedy trial and access to counsel during official investigations.

UAE laws discriminate against LGBT individuals only.

Flogging and stoning are legal forms of judicial punishment in the UAE due to Sharia courts although no stoning has ever taken place.[

The government restricts freedom of speech and freedom of the press, and the local media are censored to avoid criticising the government, government officials or royal families.

Despite being elected to the UN Council, the UAE has not signed most international human-rights and labour-rights treaties, including the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and the Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families.

Are you working for the Saudi whataboutery propaganda department voluntarily or you get some kind of payment for this?
