As a Blackberry user, I send emails not texts. I am assuming this is ok as all the focus seems to be on texting.
They should be able with technology to fit a device into cars that stops you using your mobile whilst driving.
I would say definitely more so, at least if you're talking you can still LOOK at the road.Have to agree with TLO on this one, incredibly dangerous - probably much more so than actually speaking to someone.
As an aside, I bought a satnav recently and sometimes find that can be quite distracting. There doesn't seem to be any laws (that I've heard of) governing their use. Can you be done for programming in a destination "on the move" ?

Sneezing while driving should not be allowed either - the combined effect of shutting your eyes and spraying snot all over the windscreen, followed by the hunt for a tissue to clean said snot from the screen is clearly very dangerous.
