I want to start cycling but can't find anywhere open to buy a bike!
And even if you do you may find stocks low in the cheap to mid price range if a hybrid bike is what you are after

I stopped commuting to the city in October after 25 years of it and did an awful lot of cycling when I was there, especially the 10 years I lived in Wimbledon. When I moved a bit further out and thus needed to take it on the train, I had a look at the price of folding bikes and concluded they were a bit of a rip off. In the end, I simply used 2 bikes - one to cycle to the station every morning, and another cheap one I kept at London Bridge station. Economically that worked out cheaper!Has anyone bought a folding bike of late? Am tempted to as commute into Waterloo and work at Bank and a 10 minute cycle (when i eventually go back to work) will be more appealing than getting on the waterloo & city line. I am tempted by a cheap one Halfords are selling....I am guessing that if I am cycling for 20 minutes a day there is little point in investing in one of the pricier models?

I did that too - until some scrote half-inched the LB one. I looked at getting another one but worked out that a yearly pass on the Cycle Hire scheme was even cheaper (£90 and no other costs - lights, flat tyres etc)
when's the road tax for cyclist coming into law? i mean lets be fair

Ah ,so you're a cyclist who still wants to free load off road tax , mot and insurance paying motorists and still not have to go through a test to prove your worthy of being on the roadWhen horses have to pay for road tax.
