How’d it go? This whole lockdown thing, getting out to the Downs is pure medicine.
Trying to keep up with my 2 mates that have been had bikes for years was a bit knackering! But it was good, misses bike is getting fixed so got some adventures planned

Sounds great, and yeah know that feeling trying to keep up! One tip, don’t try and keep up going up a hill, they can wait at the top.:D

They would have factored in 'pointing time' anyway.

Ah ,so you're a cyclist who still wants to free load off road tax , mot and insurance paying motorists and still not have to go through a test to prove your worthy of being on the road ???

No I am a road user who pays tax, insurance, passed a car test who would like to encourage more cyclists (and horses for that matter) to help the environment and fitness of the general public. I would go further and make all electric vehicle tax free and more accessible to town and city centres and giving them priority over diesel and petrol vehicles in specified areas so I think the idea put forward by Brighton is an exceptional idea.

How about you?

Sorry my answer was not clear, no I dont think cyclists should pay road tax. We should be making it easier for cyclists to use town and city centres...its the future.

Do you agree?

I don't see why cyclists should be singled out to pay road tax, while car users don't pay any.

Don't feed the troll, he knows, he's just coming up for some attention from the Bear Pit.

Even he knows it's not just bikes exempt from vehicle tax; electric cars, vintage cars, agricultural vehicles, mobility scooters - all of which are zero rated.

I know I know. Just sometimes I would like to extract a sensible opinion from him and to do that I try to be civil but its obviously a waste of time:lolol:

no i don't ,i'm not talking about city centres exclusively, what about country lanes for example and fast flowing A roads ???
a marked increase of old codgers on bikes cycling in packs, and don't get me going on those stupid uni freaks cycling down Lewes road !!i see no reason why they shouldn't be contributing towards being on the road
