Actually, without wanting to Dwayne this thread, does anyone know where I can get an official Endland babygrow? The Wife is welsh and it'll go down a treat with the in-laws! ;)

Some people just don't have the desire to make something of themselves. Others just don't have the ability to-they're the ones that should be helped. The spongers need a rocket inserted somewhere intimate.

Some people are clever enough to spot the opportunity that they will get enough money to live on for doing f*** all.

If they are happy with and can live on the amount of money they get in benefits then fair play to them. Entrepreneurship!

What's the answer then? A test to check the reasons for pregnancies?
I personally don't mind my taxes going on benefits to help others. If there are a few people who decide that that is the best way for them, it's not to my detriment. And having a baby is a full-time job anyway.

It's surely the responsibilty of both parents to pay for the upbringing of their kid(s)? I have no problem with benefits going to the needy and deserving-I do object to paying a lifetime of taxes to help lazy bastards milk the system for all it's worth without putting anything back in-and they're usually the ones who moan like f*** about not getting enough to live on. Sadly, it is a lot more than 'a few'.

Why should everyone have the same desires?
If someone doesn't want to do a shit job like i do, then fair play to them. I don't see that i have made something of myself because i pay tax.

Got it in one Bwian. I know someone who actually got pregnant on purpose because she knew she would end up being housed and given plenty of benefits. That was her sole reason for it - she even admitted the fact. It's far too bloody easy.

And people get angry about the benefits rather than the real problem which is a an underclass which feels that their best option is to live off the state.
Surely the answer here is to educate our children better and to provide better options for young women.

They have enough brains to realise that they can get x amount of money each year and do f*** all for it.

Personally I would want more money so I can buy nice things and go out every night, but if someone is happy with a non-luxurious lifestyle then they can live on the x amount that they can get in benefits.

Totally agree. If someone wants to spend their entire life just lounging around and getting by on a bit of my cash (relayed to them by the State) - so what? As you say people have different aspirations.

That is not me trying to be ironic BTW, I couldn't do it myself but if your idea of a good life is watching daytime TV and eating Pot Noodle - be my guest.

Yeah i understand what you're saying.
It's just incredibly low on my list of concerns as to where my taxes go. A miniscule amount of my earnings will go on people who decide to "manipulate" the system.

Why do you think these people have no desire to do anything? Where does this lack of "ambition" come from? Perhaps it's best to tackle the problem at the source, like all problems, via education.

I've had times when i've been unemployed for 6 months and i hated it. Was really unhappy. Ate rubbish food. Couldn't afford to go to gigs or the cinema or buy drugs. It was awful. Spent all my time on the phone to the council or down the dole office trying to sort things out or ask for more help that wasn't available to me surrounded by extremely unhappy people.

That is EXACTLY the problem, has always been with us and probably always will be.

Sadly, I don't know how to correct that problem-wish I did!

sorry i dont agree. most people have to work thats life. the benefits system was set up to help the disadvantaged not the ones who 'cant be bothered'. for disabled people, sick people, poor people, homeless people. not tax dodging spongers

why should i go to work and pay for other people who choose to do bugger all?? just cos they cant be bothered. and its certainly not a bit of my cash or a bit of my dads cash as he gets taxed higher rate. so because he works his arse off and gets decent wage half of his wages should go on supporting people who cant be bothered to get off their arses and get a job? in that case why did i bother going to school and going through the system that most people have to go through, go to work like most people have to.

its a pretty crap excuse poor education if you ask me.

I imagine you go to work because you want the money, the benefits that employment provides, the security, the social aspect, the freedom to talk on messageboards and because you felt there was little option but to do that.
But what if you didn't want to do that? You just still would, i suppose. But why is that good? Why is making people do what they hate a good thing?

There is a simple way to solve this and that is to give out vouchers rather than cash.

Your benefit would be given out in vouchers for;

food
child care
phone
petrol

any other essentials?

How else do you think Palace will increase thier crowds if it wasnt for teenage pregnancies!
This has to stop!!FINE THE PARENTS!!It has dramitacally reduced truancy in schools so why not teenage pregnancy?Or make a law that no council prperty will be given to anyone under the age of 18,that should have a few of them shutting thier legs.
