We'd be mad to risk JPvH, Joao Pedro, Veltman, Estupinan or Baleba.

I think we're looking at a 60% strength side, which should still be enough to beat Norwich
I would rest Baleba, maybe Van Hecke, maybe one other. The good thing in attack is you can rotate/rest and it no really lower the quality (i.e. Mitoma hasn't started last 2 games, so him coming in wouldn't exactly be lowering the quality).

The first teamers need to taste a WIN again, I genuinely think it's important psychologically.

Agree with both of your points... but I do feel as though an injury to Veltman or Pervis leaves us VERY short at full back, and Joao Pedro is our only credible option at centre forward going in to two very winnable games at Ipswich and United.

The league still has to be the priority, by all means have them all on the bench in case they're needed, but it'd be nice to give them a week off and not risk any annoying injuries.

You'd hope a front four of Minteh/Gruda, Georgi, Adingra, Enciso would be able to outscore this Norwich side (who will probably rest and rotate too!)...

I'm not sure the league does have to be the priority does it?

20/1 to win the FA Cup, 7/2 to finish top 6

Odds taken from B365

We have a much better chance of qualifying for Europe via the league. Why wouldn't it be the priority at this stage of the season?
Ok, but every year I hear the same. Will there ever be a year where we make a convincing effort to win a major trophy? We won't be this good forever.

What we generally show is an Arsenal mindset. What could go wrong. I think we need more a Liverpool mindse. Let's do what we need to do to give us the best chance of winning everything we enter.

We've got a week off before and 5 days after. Jan and Feb aren't that bad fixture wise. There's absolutely no reason we shouldn't be determined to compete on two fronts

I think that's unfair. Last season we got to R5 and ran out of steam, the squad was nowhere near deep enough to compete on three fronts. The season before that we were unlucky not to get to the final. The season before that a strong xi was knocked out away at Spurs. We've shown the FA Cup a lot of respect in recent seasons... I'm sure we'll do the same this season.

BUT, we have a lopsided squad, an injury to one of the full backs, JPvH or Joao Pedro could seriously derail the season, and at the moment we have a much better chance of making this a 'successful' season via the league.

I think, and I'd hope FH thinks that we have enough to get past Norwich whilst giving a few of the more important guys a breather.

That's not to say play the u21s, more just recognition of the fact that we're coming off the back of a hectic period and are looking a bit light in a few areas. Obviously if we progress it's a different story in the later rounds.

It'll be interesting to see whos fite and firing come Thursday.

the rest the top boys argument is kind of offset by the possibility of those getting back to full fitness getting clattered by donkeys . . . . . It'll need balance. And full use of subs.

Now that Igor is out for several months reckon a) we bench Veltman for this game lest we need him to come on as a RCB and b) depending on JPVH and Webster’s fitness consider starting McConville.

Expecting a very strong team. Europe may well be considered out of reach in the not too distant future and the boys could well use some sort of carrot for the rest of the season. Going out against Norwich would be very bad for us.

2-3 players like Van Hecke, Baleba and Joao Pedro to be rested, but other than that full team.

Norwich are flying at the moment in the league and after picking up 3 wins and a draw in the space of 9 days I would hope that with their next two matches being away at blades and Leeds that they will Chuck the ressies in for this match. They are four points outside play offs so surely the league has to take priority.
