He's had strong games and weak ones, but so good today.

What also has to be said is that he is a completely different player now to the one we first signed. That Tariq relied so much on pace and low centre of gravity to weave around opponents.

Now he seems to have lost a bit of that pace, but is more able to tackle, stick a leg in and whip in excellent crosses. Sign of a clever player who works hard.

I genuinely feel he has something to offer long term here.
He can have the odd howler but I do think that’s often not entirely his fault. He’s so small, he’s always going to be targeted by certain managers. My feeling is as an occasional full back, winger and wing back he has enough to be a decent squad option. He’s also a very good option off the bench in certain games and the eye test suggests he is one of our biggest contributors in the attacking third.

His heat map from Saturday shows how much he overlapped with Mitoma, proving to be an excellent alternative to Estupinan (in Kadioglu’s absence anyway).

I hope he stays with us. As he's shown in recent weeks, he's a very useful squad player. When available, he was a regular on the pitch for RDZ.

I imagine he'll be off to Ajax for free in the summer, or a similar good quality European side of serious pedigree (Marseille perhaps?) but if he wasn't to leave England, I'd hope he'd be offered terms to stay instead of going to another PL club.

I actually thought Tariq's defending was good on saturday. If he can just curb an over enthusiasm to charge forward at every opportunity he can be a hell of a player.

I really enjoyed his performance saturday, Tariq very much looked the player that excited us so much before. I now have confidence in him in that spot now.

I love little T and I thought he had a great game .... however, if two things had gone differently we would have been moaning again. In the first two minutes he gets rolled and left behind setting up a shooting opportunity, and in the last minutes he prevented a corner by passing straight to a Chelsea player on the edge of the box with Bart saving his blushes. I am glad that didn't happen and we can say we had a dropped them out of the cup.

just to put this in context, he did everything else right! but football can be a game of moments.

In the first half, Mitoma spent a lot of time coming into in the centre of the pitch.
Looked like a deliberate ploy.

He was better on Saturday than he was at Forest (not difficult) but he still got totally rinsed a couple of times and it'll be a while before I'll be seeing the lineup and going 'ahh brilliant, Lamptey at LB'. Would definitely keep him in the squad though

I had a little chuckle when he headed away a cross from a centre half position on Friday. Luckily nobody was anywhere near him.

I loved it when it looked like he fell over in front of Neto (?) and then seemed to crawl between his legs and come away with the ball!
