Sussex Team formed of Overseas Players or Players born Overseas

How about Paul Parker?

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........................!

1972 - He was captain of Collyers (Horsham), I was captain of Hove CGS and this knob dropped him at extra cover when he was on 11. We got thumped and he ended up with over a 100, which cost me a bloody fortune in the Stadium that evening.

Johnny Barclay was an under-rated player I reckon. He was a regular in the side for 15 years before his injury.

He was also the best captain I've seen at Sussex: handled the players really well and had a keen cricket brain. He's one of those people who really shone as a captain.

GM was born in Columbo but went to school in Hove.

Heart ruling head I think Gwylan. Next thing you will be wheeling in Mark Faber and Austin Parsons!

Any team that doesn't contain Ranjitsinhji cannot really be taken seriously. The bloke had a first class batting average of 56 - and this at a time when wickets were like bombsites and 30 was a decent average. He'd be a good candidate for an all-time world XI and certainly should be the first name on any Sussex team.

How about the flip of this, a side of players who were born in Sussex?

John Langridge
Joe Vine
Alan Wells
Tommy Cook
Jim Parks Sr
Jim Parks Jr
Alan Oakman
Charlie Oakes
Maurice Tate
James Kirtley

I agree that he's not the greatest but my thinking was that you have a side batting down to 9 and a pretty lethal attack, do you really need another batsman or bowler? What you want is someone who can make sure that all egos are pulling together and, like I said, he's the best captain I've ever seen.
