Sussex By the sea

hey people,

I was thinking, now we are about to begin our journey into Falmer soon, do we not think it is about time someone re-recorded sussex by the sea into a modern beat driven thumping tune for our lads to run out to, its a great theme but it seems a little dated now....Thoughts?

Hiney, I concur, just play it LOUDER

Ok, we all have our thoughts of course, but it will still be our tune, but as an alternative sussex by the sea, just maybe re-record it exactly the same then but with new musicians with modern recording equiptment to keep it fresh

Have Christ Hospital Band who played it at Withdean recorded it. This is coming from somebody who really likes the version by Royal Marines and more so by The Massed Band of the Brigade of Guards.

So recording it on digital equipment to make it sound better is a no then as well, how is that wrong as well?

Recording it on "modern digital" equipment will NOT make it sound better in any way, at all, ever, EVER.

Needs to be re-recorded on high tec equipment . Could sound great belted out over the speakers , I actually like the speeded up version at the end. Especially after 3 points

Ask anyone who really likes their music, analogue has yet to be beaten by any "modern digital" method. In fact, digital does not even come close to the true audiophile.

I agree, a well recorded brass band would suffice...in an age where everything seems to be computer generated and manipulated why not just go for something that is natural, rousing...and bloody well perfect!

Correct, on real top quality kit, which, if it is really top quality, will NOT be digital

Under your skin.

Natural, yes, and maye the analogue v digital is a debate to be had, but i still think it should be re-recorded for the sake of falmer so we can really belt it out, remixed or not
