I've started listening to RTL Radio France in the car as I cant stand any of the usual UK channels these days. Really not sure why that one, I think its just having something different, rather than something specific.
Its mainly just chit chat, which goes over my head most of the time - although I can get by with my GCSE French for some of it - but some of the women on there sound really hot with their French accents, which helps :lolol:

Im guessing it wouldn't be anyone elses thing though....

I have a dabble occasionally

At home I like this, jumps around a lot

Heart FM - Turn up the feel good. They've already been playing Christmas songs for a fortnight and if you heard 5 Sam Smith songs in a row you can win £30,000.

:O

For me it's R5 although not the biggest Campbell fan.
Alternative though would be Alexa, and one with the clock on it. Can set alarms, diaries, get the latest news & weather plus listen to any radio station in the world. Amazon or Spotify account not needed.

Aren't you concerned that Amazon know what time you're getting out of bed though ?

If only there was a handy user guide readily available.

Oh & Easy have you seen The Rewatchables for December:-

The Wolf of Wall Street
The Talented Mr Ripley
Happy Gilmore
Godfather Pt II

Excellent, good mix there. That'll snort my commute out for a few days.

Funnily enough I watched The Godfather on Monday for the first time in years, and plan on watching Pt II today or tomorrow.

It always amazes me why people watch a film for the 2nd time having watched it once and know what happens. I can to an extent understand with musicals as you get the music but not drama or mystery because that went out of the window the first time of watching. Each to their own I suppose as my brother in law watches the same films time and time again

I think that More is one of the worst radio stations on air. The least said about the Geordie news reader who I cannot understand with his accent. I believe that in the south they should have news readers with a southern accent and let the Geordie ones operate in their area of the land the same with Scot, Welsh and Irish. I dont like Lorraine Kelly on TV for the same reason I cannot understand her completely..

Its not just all about the plot though. Its enjoying the performances of the actors, the music in some instances, the cinematography. Some films are well worth revisiting for all kinds of reasons. I've probably seen Reservoir Dogs about six or seven times since it came out in 1992. You inevitably forget chunks of it, and often notice things you hadn't noticed before.

I'd not seen The Godfather for about 20 years till I watched it the other day, so barely remembered any of it (apart from the scene with the horses head). It was enjoyable seeing all those famous lines being spoken again. James Caan and a young Al Pacino are magnificent in it, and I'd totally forgotten Talia Shire was in it as well. Plenty to enjoy. A well crafted film is always worth revisiting.

I don't like any radio station in the morning. I'm not interested in news or current affairs, got even less interest in celebrity gossip, and I hate the vacuous DJs and the boring anodyne music they all play. And even Radio 3 can be a bit much first thing as well. So I entertain myself by talking and singing to myself. I DO get some funny looks from the other passengers though.

I've completed Wolf.
Watched Happy G, yesterday, for the umpteenth time.
Looking forward to watching Talented for the first time in X years.

I'm sure I've seen Godfather II, but that'll be almost like seeing it afresh (that will be a mighty long pod)

When I go gangster naturally I head towards Goodfellas and The Sopranos.
The Godfather has rather passed me by.

For a film made in 1972, The Godfather certainly doesn't "feel" like a 70s-made movie (its set in the 40s and 50s). Very polished, the score is superb, the performances and the writing all top notch, its easy to see why it is still hailed as such a classic as it really doesn't feel "aged" at all, despite it being nearly 50 years old now. Much like me, really :D

I am not knocking you, as I said each to their own but in fairness I do not watch films I think the last visit to a cinema was to watch Grease and I always have too much on record from the TV to watch a film. I recorded every episode of Silent Witness from the start for my wife and The Bill for me on Drama so we have loads to watch.

Didn't take it as a knock chap, just putting my case as to why I'll revisit certain films.

Every episode of The Bill recorded ?? Blimey. Each to their own, as you say.

The producers on Radio 2 need shooting. Here's most mornings on R2 at about 7.40. Yes, it's a regular slot.

"Hi, whose that we've got on the phone"
"Hi Zoe, it's Isobelle aged 7"
"And what instrument are you going to play darling?
" I'm going to play the Violin"
"OK, away you go"
"SCREECH, SCRATCH, SCREECH, SCREECH, SCRATCH Millions of listeners start have bleeding ears and switch off in droves.
"That was fantastic"

Every. Single. Morning. Who wants to listen to some snot nosed kids playing an instrument or ruining a perfectly good song singing it badly and who thought that was a good idea over Cornflakes? I don't even want to listen to my kids play an instrument ever let alone listen to someone else's snivelling shit bags do likewise.

I tolerate Dave Berry on Absolute most mornings.

It took me a while to figure out the main problem with Zoe Ball (other than just being generally annoying), and it's because she's a mouth breather. It'll be talk, talk, talk, massive loud intake of breath, talk some more etc. Shirely as a radio DJ the ability to not to breath directly in to the microphone ought to a pre-requisite for the job.

Very much this, also "later on we will be talking to (insert "celebrity" here) a great friend of the show and we are all going to pretend we are best mates with them and by the way they have a new book/film/recipe/TV series which they would like to plug" or "...did you see celebrity vole throttling last night, lets go on and on about it ......".

I am probably one of those odd few who actually quite liked Chris Evans.

Brilliant as it is, I would contend Godfather Part II is even better. Certainly bleaker...
