To be fair, whilst she is a FREAK, and not terribly BRIGHT, I'm sure I'd find a use for her if I were stuck down a mine for four months.

I watched a repeat of Brainiac the other day. ( I'm sorry) She was on as a guest, I don't know whether it was a wind up or not, I suspect it wasn't, she has an IQ of 136.

I just don't understand why it is going to take that long to ge them out? Is it just that they can't be bothered or don't want the cost?

They have to drill a shaft 66cm (26 inches) in diameter about half a mile down to reach them.
That takes at least 120 days, apparently.

Thinking about it - that shaft they're drilling does sound awfully THIN doesn't it ? I think my waist size is a little more than 26 inches these days

I think its going to take days for the food and water and other stuff to get to where they are.

They are billions and billions of miles under. Well nearly.

That shows the difference between diameter and circumference!

I find this the stuff of nightmares.

Where's International Rescue when you need 'em?

Who knows what the toilet facilities are like...?

The illustration in post #23 seems to show that some of the passageways below the blockages are accessible if they want to go for a "private wander"?

It wouldn't be after 3 months of restricted rations

I do hope you aren't 26inches wide.

I would teach everyone to sing the song TRAPPED by Colonel Abrams.

I'd do the obvious and start digging downwards to find some cgi-ed dinosaurs and dragons and fairies and surf the lava waves all the way to freedom, with a newly-adopted pygmy-monkey thing that i grew to love and call Bernie shortly after i accidentally slit the throat of its simply protective mother. Bernie didn't see that bit so thinks i am his saviour, and possibly mate judging by the way he keeps wobbling his monstrous thundercock at me. Still, we'll get on alright until the world sees him and wants to cage him and scientifically test him. That's part 2 though, when i realise that giving him up was wrong, completely bloody wrong, and have to rescue him from a circuslike lab, along with his hybrid friend Birtwik, who is a bee-ver, a goddamn-building beast with a flapping tail of suicidal toxicity.

Beat me to it. That's what I would do too
