Maybe best not to build hopes too high...
This place is pretty toxic at the moment, I'm finding. I commented yesterday just how pathetic it was that fans were turning on other fans.Bloody hell, we’re on the verge of signing one of the hottest young talents going and people are furious about it?

Yes, the club's in a right financial MESS!Lose 2 half decent strikers, pay silly money for an unproven replacement but dont use him. Business done by clowns
Usual agent crap more likely.Funny one this, isn't it? He's playing in the German equivalent of the Championship, and yet seemingly had Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs and Villa after him, according to some pretty reputable sources. That's like Europe's top clubs (and Spurs/ Chelsea) going after some lad at Sunderland.
His underlying stats must suggest he's pretty special then.
No danger. How many former "promising talents" are on loan at moment, because they weren't improving or didn't fit the system or something?Having read a few of your posts today, I don't think there's any danger of that in your case
Yawn....you know we buy for potential. It’s been a very successful model. We develop elite players, not buy them ffs.A good addition for the U21's.
Hi AndyAgain FWIW. Hes tweeted several times today including confirmation of the Barco transfer, promoting his analysis of yesterday's defeat , and an Athletic piece about RDZ .
I thought Barco did really well for us - in what little we got to see of him - and showed a lot of promise. Was looking forward to seeing him again this seasonI'm sure this has been done to death on the other thread but every little thing I've read about that situation suggests there is way more to it than Barco not being up to the grade and that it comes down to something very negative about his character/ personality. It's clearly not just us who thought that either, as Sevilla haven't wanted to touch him with a bargepole.
On the plus side, he's now gone to Chelsea, thinly disguised as Strasbourg, so hopefully he will screw their clubs up from the inside.
Oh I've seen all that, but he's still playing in the second tier, isn't he? I don't know if those figures are weighted to take into account the relative strengths of the leagues.
Don't get me wrong, I very much want to be positive. I just want to know what it is about this lad which has seemingly attracted some of the best clubs in Europe, despite the fact he's playing against German village sides.
Thanks AndyAgain FWIW. Hes tweeted several times today including confirmation of the Barco transfer, promoting his analysis of yesterday's defeat , and an Athletic piece about RDZ .
There's a point in any players career where they get to a level that's just below where me need them to be, where they won't improve without matches. The choice is a loan away or sitting on the bench here.No danger. How many former "promising talents" are on loan at moment, because they weren't improving or didn't fit the system or something?
Thanks Andy
Ha Ha ! - anyway i thought i was Barber.Hi Andy
My fireworks are all wet and stink of piss.Oh I've seen all that, but he's still playing in the second tier, isn't he? I don't know if those figures are weighted to take into account the relative strengths of the leagues.

Think Naylor is just quite conservative so waits until a deal is pretty much done before reporting it as opposed to others who have a slightly more scattergun approach. It does mean that he very rarely gets things wrong but is perhaps a bit dull for the social media generationHa Ha ! - anyway i thought i was Barber.
PS: Not hard to actually check what Naylor is reporting rather than what you think or like to think he's been doing for some reason.
